Glad to see some owners posting on the new Stelvio. I had a 2009 Stelvio and a current V85TT travel. My dealer has a grey one but I like the yellow more. Too bad no red, white or green models.

I guess having no heated grips, luggage, etc keep the price down, curious how much heated grips are as an option.

Good luck and enjoy-

Heated grips look to be the same as V100. So $330 for the factory grips

I'm hoping the aftermarket brings out top load panniers pretty soon.
One thing I find curious is why standard rear rack, which seems very well constructed with large struts to act as passenger grab handles, is so small? It's like 6" square, why didn't they make it at least 12" to be useful?

I wouldn't spend that kind of money for grips that are only marginal in effectiveness. Just go with Oxfords, they work very well. The controller actually doesn't look too bad and could probably be mounted in an out of the way place. There is another brand, Koso, that have the controller built in, however I know nothing about them. The grips on my V100 don't work very well at all. The stock grips are too small in diameter for me, since they didn't heat very well I had no qualms about installing Grip Puppies. I got heated gloves instead to go along with my heated liner. It has been so mild this winter and with lots of road construction and slides I have hardly used either.

I think we all must be very different because I find the heated grips on my V85TT and Stelvio to work well. I've been riding the Stelvio here in 40's to mid 50's just trying to get some miles on and have had the grips on 1, sometimes 2 briefly. I've not even tried 3, but to be honest I don't even ride when it's down in the 30's. And the grip diameter seems fine, they're a bit larger than the ones on my other bikes except the Harley. They also integrate through the function button so thankfully there's no controller to have to mount somewhere. I do agree that at $300-$340 they aren't cheap.

Good info to know, the other thing that many find interesting is why are the footpegs mounted to the engine? Also, how many other bikes had this set up?

I will say the price point at under 17k is pretty good, even though its stripped of options that a GS would have at 22-23k

Glad it's on the grip now because I hated the Oxford controller on my bars.
