Looking at those other vintage Honda twins on BaT made me think of this one... :thumb: :boozing:

The late 60's Honda 450cc "Black Bomber"  :thumb:

Wasn’t the Black Bomber the bike that gave Honda real motorcycle cred?

Kind of a post, “ you meet the nicest people” era.

I believe the bike that gave HONDA the cred was the legendary 50cc Cub...like in this ad... :thumb:

Then again, in 1969, the CB750 REALLY launched the market cred for Honda... :thumb:

No "Black Bomber" but regretfully let this one go to make room for something else in '12.

I worked for Heyser Honda, Laurel, MD in the mid-latter '60s as a mechanic.  On Summer Sundays, the shop being closed, several of us employees would pull new bikes off the showroom floor, disconnect the front wheel speedometer cables and spend a pleasant day "testing the new bikes for safety and reliability".   I always liked the Black Bomber, 1966 CB-460 4 speed.  A little heavy, a bit clunky, but overall a delightful ride.
