Breva 1100: ok for tall rider?

Hi all,

I sold my 2011 8V Norge in 2016, and have lately been hankering to get back to Guzzi riding again (I’ve been on a Multistrada for the past eight years). Yeah, and I missed you folks too ;-)

I’m looking at a 07 Breva (edit: Breva 1100), it’s a few hours away so haven’t seen it in person yet. I think this would be a perfect bike for me, my only concern is ergonomics: I’m 6’2”, and the Norge felt a bit undersized for me. 34” inseam.

I’m wondering if any of you Breva owners can comment on how the Breva will fit a taller rider?

The ergonomics on a Breva I believe are the same as your old Norge.

I'm 6' and have an '08 Breva 750. It wasn't too bad but I had the seat raised 2" and now it is very comfortable.

Look on the bright side though; I have a friend who has the same same bike and he is about 5'2". He had to go to a lot more trouble to lower the bike.

If the OP isn't already aware there were two completely different Brevas available for a few years (including 2007).

The Breva 750 was a smallblock, same motor and chassis as the Nevada and V7 Classic. Dual shock, smallblock Heron Head etc

The Breva 1100 was a CARC big block.

My B11 was a great bike in most ways, but I found the lack of airflow harsh. It was the singularly hottest bike in the saddle for any ambient above maybe 70°F. Like swamp crotch hot from lack of airflow. I got rid of it for a smallblock that made half the power just to escape the heat and get better airflow. Never looked back.

Knight lowering pegs make a huge difference in legroom.. I had zero issues with heat on mine..Really a sweet/  smooth running big block..It ran much smoother then the V-100 Stelvio I test drove. Way smoother trans too.. Turned like a pig though. even with Dunlop Q-3+ on it..1100 Monster was kind of a hot one in the seat area..

When I owned the 8V Norge, I quickly discovered that the seat was very thinly padded and too low relative to the pegs for me. I had the seat redone to give me more height and more padding, but then the grips were farther away, and I had to hunch down a bit to reach them. Someone mentioned lowering the foot pegs, I’ll look into that.

Is there such a thing as raising the bars? That wasn’t an option on the 8V Norge, I think we decided that the brake and throttle lines were too short.

Get lower pegs, I am 6'3" and the V7III was kind of cramped for long-ish days. Got Knights design 2" lower pegs and an airflow cover. Very comfy now, do scrape pegs more, but reminds me to move off the seat as I am supposed to do.
I did get the EV seat built up with 3" of memory foam, since lowered pegs  werent an easy option there

People have fitted bar risers and Helibar used to make a solution but you'll need to Google about a bit to find them

I had Helibars on my non ABS 05 B1100 and IIRC I only needed a longer brake line. I seem to recall that the ABS bikes didn't need longer hoses
