Time for a new winter riding jacket.  My old textile Marsee jacket is about to the end of the trail.

I've got a couple of Dianese jackets for spring/summer riding (1 perforated leather & 1 textile).  I really like the Dainese jackets, but haven't seen a solid leather that I like, but I have seen a couple of Vanson jackets that I like.

So, do any of my esteemed colleagues own a Vanson jacket, and, would you buy another one?

Good quality. Sizing is wonky. Make sure you try some on. I'm a size 42. 6' 2". Nothing smaller than a 48 fits me through the chest, and the sleeves are still shortish.

Very solid jackets--the heavy weight ones take years to break in. I think some models were made offshore for a few years but most if not all are back to being made in the US of A.

Yeah, this - but quality is second to none.

Had one and would buy another.  Very high quality as others have said.   They run small in my opinion.

I have one, the leather is so thick I don't need armor. They will actually refurbish a jacket too, if you wear it out a bit.

I'd buy another. In fact I may.

I own a Vanson Sport Rider Pro-Perf that literally saved my skin as I rolled 70' down the highway this summer. I bought a Vanson Relaxed Sport Rider this fall. Both jackets are armored and I have added the optional back armor. I wear a size 46 regular sport coat but require a 48 for the Vanson. The relaxed jacket is a little roomier allowing layering for warmth. I also wear Vanson armored leather pants; top quality stuff and worth every penny in my book. My days of riding in jeans and t-shirt are over. ATGATT baby!

I did not want to wait the leather to break in, so I got a vintage "already broken" Vanson Cobra. Perforated.
Awesome jacket!

I've got a Vanson.  They fit tight, or a little small if you want something comfortable.  I went a size or two large, because I'm a relaxed guy.

I've visited the factory several times.  It's done old school, although a few products are made overseas.  Still, it's all quality.  Thick heavy leather.
Wears like iron.  Armor is available for many of their stuff.

Five years I ago I started a short thread on my jacket (which is still barely broken in):  http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=46374.0

I'm still wearing the same jacket I bought 15 years ago, though it's getting hard to zip up. Would absolutely buy another.

I have two sets of Vanson. Solid armored pants with a sport rider jacket with the zip down curtains inside behind perf panels in the front.   The other set is fully perfed pants and jacket, all are armored.  Which I wear depends on the temperature and time of year. I have been down in one set end even though the leather is scuffed they are still very useable. Very good leather and good protection. I highly recommend them.   The only down side is that you have to carry rain gear as opposed to wearing some of the textile that is waterproof. Personally I prefer the tighter fit and feel of leather.

I also have two sets (perf and regular) of Vanson leathers and my only complaint has been the zipper's at the ankles. Not really a big deal and if I lived closer would just drop them off for a fix.

Used to have a perforated Vanson leather jacket in black with The orange shoulders.  Great jacket but still got a bit too hot for SoCal.  Bought it off ebay and sold it the same way... Suckers hold their value

I had one of these.

http://www.vansonleathers.com/prod-Drifter__with_Stripes_-552.aspx

I sold for like $225 on eBay a year back.  Great jacket just too much for Florida.

I bought one of these on a closeout (Guzzi Griso Jacket) but still too warm to try  (85 degrees today ).  At least half the weight I would guess.  This guy selling them for just over $300.

The Vanson jackets also fit quite differently depending on model. Check their website for fitment--there are measurements to be found there, or better yet try one one before buying.

I loved my vanson. Racer fit took a little getting used to (mine ran high on the waist and was very narrow there).

I also really like the fox creek jackets - made in USA with awesome guarantees. And finally the British motorcycle gear Montana is one of the best jackets imho, reasonable, excellent quality and very protective combined with being extremely attractive.

Thanks for all the comments.  I'm going to see if 'Santa' will take an early order so I can have it when it gets cold down here (January).

I like Fox Creek products too, I also have a Lanqlitz jacket that I had custom made around 1964 that I still wear.
