Coming from Sturgis?
Came through there yesterday afternoon. Seeing lots of bikes and trailers heading that' way.

Had one of the local guys leave Sunday for Sturgis.  He went into Denver to pu a rental bike.  He's meeting his brother-in-law coming in from Conn.  Supposedly, they and 2 more friends are renting a dorm. suite from a local school.  $400/wk.  Cheap.
From the Deep Deep South out in left field.  There are no stupid questions.  There are however stupid people asking questions.  🤣, this includes me.  😉

I wish I knew that earlier.  I'd have gotten your Tent!
I'm planning to arrive Thursday. Only have a few thousand miles to cover. Tomorrow is the last day in Canada and on the bike. We reunite with the truck and trailer tomorrow afternoon in Idaho,  then start heading east .
No worries about the tent, as I have a new one that actually fit a human being. We'll see you on Friday, and save some beer for us!

Like the turnip farmer says, "If you watch the weather channel, you'll never go anywhere.." the forecast was for showers and T storms all weekend.
Left the Kid's place on Lake Como (!) in SE Wisconsin on the AeroLario in heavy overcast. All was well until I turned off on one of my favorite alphabet roads going to the rally.. G. I could see a big cell that would be *easy* to fly around, but the road was heading right into it. Cloud to cloud lightning, the whole bit. I thought, "cool.. I get to try out my new Olympia summer jacket's rain cover. " Pulled it out of the saddle bag, and saw that I'd left my rain pants in the Scura travel kit.
Weather protection on the Lario is bettter than you might think. In light rain, you barely get wet as long as you are moving.
But.
I was going right through the center of that sucker. The new rain cover was doing a great job, but when I saw rivulets of mud coming across the road and slowed down, water just poured off the tank into.. oh you know where it went. It was like someone threw a 5 gallon bucket of water on me.  By this time, it was just get there and don't fall off your scooter for about 20 minutes.
Broke out into fine clear Wisconsin countryside, and rode to our usual campsite.
The aero heads make pretty fair glove driers.

Walked toward the front, and Pyro Dan said, "Hey.. they just tapped the kegs."
Life is good. :boozing:
Early arrivals from New York via Canada, eh?

It was Thursday, and Brad and Nora had to w ww wwwork. I called it when I heard the Spot coming up the hill. It has a unique sound.

Saw Twowings with the tank off his Norge. Uh oh. What I don't know about them would fill several volumes. He was losing about a quart of oil in 500 miles. We decided it was probably a loose breather hose into the air box.
It was *cold* after the cold front passage, and that sleeping bag felt great. We like to cook breakfast when camping.. pressed coffee and a fritatta was a great way to start the day.

People rolled in and set up on Friday. By the end of the rally, this area was full.

Friday's always the best time at a rally.. meeting new and old friends.
We have Attempt To Talk  for phone service, and it's dead in SW Wisconsin. When I walked to the top of the hill to see if I had any messages, I saw 20 missed calls. (!) It was Austin, and his Duck had a "failure to proceed" problem. 3 hours away.   Would we come get him? I remember how excited I was to go to my first major fly in when I was his age, so reluctantly said, "Sure." The question was would it fit in the Transit? It did. At any rate, we rolled back into camp at 2:45 am.  There was quite a bon fire going at Pyro Dan's camp, with much partying going on, but that is *way* past my bed time. In the morning, Austin's dad said he'd come to the Kid's place and get him, so the next thing was to see if we could get the bike there with our and Brad and Nora's stuff in it.
No problem..

As usual, I was a great.. and memorable.. Wisconsin rally. They know how to do it. It ran like a well oiled machine. Thanks to all!

PS. The weather? It was fine.

Thanks for the pix, Chuck.

Brought back great memories of 2011 & 2012 when I was fortunate enough to be nearby and attended.

Sure wish I could have made it. I went the last two years, and it is one of the best rallies out there, bar none. Hope to make it next year.

Just an update as we're back home again in Indiana.. 247 were registered. Pretty good for a rally with a bad weather forecast.   :thumb:

Do they golf carts still have their rally at the same time nearby?  They used to parade through the Guzzi rally on Saturday nights.  She were pretty wild.

They came up, heard the air horns, and could see the Flam belching leader, but not sure they did a real parade this year.  I was to lazy :boozing: to get up by that point and make my way up the hill!
