I see that as I type, there is a spell check. BUT, I can not find a button to select that gives a suggested replacement word like most email, work processor type programs do. I'm using Firefox.

Is there a button that I can't find?? I don't want to have to take the time to go to Google spell to figure out the correct spelling.

I ask this because I just replied to a post that I had two errors, one was the word splined, as in a splined shaft. I could have Googled it, but I let it go. BTW: what is the correct spelling????

Thank you,
Tom

There is a leading, silent "K".

I get my dictionary choices by right-clicking on the suspect word.

Nah mate.
In Australia we have these strange buildings where children gather and listen to "grown ups".
Back in the dim distant past, they were known as schools.
An old fashioned notion I'll admit, but I guess I'm just a traditionalist at heart...

This is the perfect time to point out that a spellchecker is no good if your misspelling of a word spells another word.

Tom,,  this is how my spell checker works, too.  When a misspelling is flagged with a 'red' underscore, I position the cursor under that word, right-click on it, and I'm presented with a pop-up that offers suggestions.  Left click on the correct suggestion and it will replace your misspelling.

In the event the spell checker offers no options, perhaps because the word is not currently in the dictionary, that word can be added to the dictionary with a left click on the 'add to dictionary' option.

I run Chrome as my browser, and Win7 as my operating system.

Bob

EDIT:  Didn't notice that you'd already taken Rodekyll's suggestion.
