Grandma says I'm wrong
« on: November 27, 2022, 09:04:45 AM »
I thought this cute little minibike would be a good fixer-upper project for the grandchildren. Grandma says I'm wrong, that it has a bad word on the tank, it will turn them into houligans, lead to a life of crime, cause them to flunk out of junior high school, it has a Torque Converter whatever that is but is sounds dangerous, they will start smoking cigarettes and drinking alocohol, and that I am generally a Bad Grandpa for bringing it home.

Paint over the script to placate granny and buy the kids decent riding gear. They will either give it up the first time they wreck, or become one of us.

Paint the tank,  I would rather you teach them how to ride rather than a stranger. I would love to teach kids how to ride again, good luck 👍

I got a pile of mini bike parts from my son-in-law. He was going to build one or two for the grand kids. They were more interested in softball and actually quite good players. Anyway I built one with a Predator motor from Harbor Freight. I won't let the grand kids ride it though. I damn near dumped me on my head when the centrifugal clutch engaged. The thing is very quick with that 212cc motor. My first bike was only 80cc.  Of course the CoG is almost over the rear wheel. My wife says I need to wear my helmet when I am on it.

Looks like a good trainer if you want them to grow up to be Harley or Indian riders. Guzzi riders? Not so much.

Time to do a little creative work….

Replace the tank logos with Moto Guzzi Convert badges to help point the grandchildren in the desired direction.

Happy wife —- happy life….

Worst quote ever.  Probably invented by wives.

Have a happy life.  If she is a part of it, great.   Of course we all ride motorcycles so most of us aren't listening to our wives.

Does he ride a bicycle already? My three year old grandson has mastered his electric John Deere tractor, haven't tried him on two wheels yet. Have a 16' bike waiting... Every kid is different. There's several square miles of forest behind my house. I ran a dirt bike and a quad all through it thirty years ago. Looking for a 50cc dirt bike and a 50cc quad for him. He'll get to try both. Whatever he chooses, two or four wheels, will drive what I will buy for myself.
