Scanning 42 yr old negatives from Bryar/Loudon roadracers

Here is my latest batch. Jimmy Adamo on a badass Ducati with Reno Leoni stirs my soul.

Chuck, thanks for posting your pix, especially of Rino. In 1978 I bought one of his race engines, it had 14:1 pistons, had him change to 10:1. It still has his race cam, mirror polished rods and crank. Its' been in my '73/'74 Sport ever since. He was a meticulous craftsman, mechanic extraordinaire, and a perfect gentleman.       Horst.

Very cool. Jimmy looks so young in the photos. In 1992 Warren Elliot and I went to Daytona. We hung out in Jimmy's garage for the weekend. I got to be part of his pit crew and was the guy with the fuel can during his pit stops in the race. I think Jim came in third that year. He lost his life there in '93. RIP. Spent a rainy morning in Reno's garage drinking expresso and talking race bikes. A living legend...

everything about those pictures is so wonderful

compare similar pics from today and you can see that the world ain't what it once was!!!

I was born in the 80s, feel like I missed out having not lived through that era.

I was 17 in 1980, addicted to motorcycles but still oblivious to what was going on just three hours north.  I so wish I had paid attention.  Thanks for the photos. They are so interesting.

All the years I went to Laconia/Loudon (25) I didn't know there was a racetrack!

Actually, I stopped at the racetrack twice in the parking lot just to say I was there.

But my time was used to check out Weirs Beach, and the great sites, roads the Mountains, and can't forget the Kamagaus Highway.

Stayed at Proctors directly across from the Drive-in next to the Lobster Pound. Boats, and Motorcycles and other sites wink, wink, wink)

I did a few track days with an organization called Sport Riders of New England (SRNE) back in the mid 90's.  I used an '86 VFR once and a '85 GPz550 twice.  Way Fun!!

The course looked like this. (might have had one more turn, I thought there were 13)

I stayed about 45 minutes away, but this was the scene at dawn on Sunday morning…

Wow, a burnt Jap bike AND a Jap car. What year was that? The campground was a rough place in the '70's and '80's. Got better after they built the new track. My first trip to Loudon was in '74, all the crazy stuff happened right on Rte. 106. I was told to chain myself to my bike when I slept at night so it wouldn't get stolen. There was a large group of HA camped across the road from us. Because of those shenanigans, NH banned roadside camping in '75. Then the crazy stuff moved to the campground at the track.
