Confirmed- Ducati ECU does work in MG(Pete/Mark)
« on: January 11, 2015, 07:04:26 AM »
I asked this in another thread and found out that a Ducati ECU, which is much cheaper to find here in the USA will work in a Moto Guzzi.
So i bought a Ducati 848 (5A style ECU) sent it off to Pete and he flashed if for my Griso. :bow
I just got a chance to install and reset the TPS and gave it a ride yesterday.
All is well and is good info for anyone who wants a spare to play with.
Be sure to look for a list of Ducati ECU types and get only one that is equal to your yours i.e. 15m,5A, etc.
Moto Guzzi ECU's are about $300 new( AF1 racing) or the Ducati used can be had for as low as $65 to about $100. ;D
Anyway Pete/Mark latest map runs great in the Griso, thanks. ;-T

Understood.

but unlike MG ECU the ducati has only model number stickers all of the other ID stickers are gone. So not sure how to tell the listing just gives type not hardware ID.

Any info welcomed.

Then without access to the ecu it's hard. But if you know the ducati number, you can find the id on the internet. If you have the ecu with original map, you can read it out. But if it was a wrong one it  won't work, so you have  no problem.

Thanks also, I have Guzzi diag  and the Tunepro program that I just downloaded for my v-11. Could I just download the original map out of my ecm to the Ducati ecm? Just looking for a spare ecm to have on hand.

Yes, you don't need tunerpro for that. Watch out the different 15m versions there are. the difference is in the extension to 15 so like 15m.c05
