My gosh, I rode ALL those bikes back in the 70s.I think they got it pretty much right. Especially the fact that the drum-braked, kick-start, Sportster-front-end SuperGlide was one of the worst cocked-up hybrid styling-driven bikes of all time .....Lannis
As the owner of a new Super Glide in 72 the statement from this article could not be more true. To quote the authors "Cornering on the Super Glide brought varying reactions, from abject terror......... to crossing oneself before final doom" was if anything an understatement. I read somewhere that gave a mind boggling glowing review of the Super Glide that Willie G's newly designed Super Glide was the second coming of Harley Davidson. I think it must rate as one of the all time worst bikes ever made.
