Breva 1100 stalls at idle- fixed!
« on: July 25, 2019, 02:28:41 PM »
Bike has 59k miles and runs great except  it would  stall at  idle.   I worked on this on and off all summer and did many tests, including:

- Verified that the idle step motor was moving ok and it's lines were clear..
- plugs ok.  Replaced anyway.
- air filter clean.
- valves adjusted.
- no air leaks by propane test.
- throttle position set using GuzziDiag
- fuel pressure ok
- injectors spray fine, looked clean.  Clean again anyway.
- nice string spark, at least on the outer plugs.
- replaced all 4 plugs.
- cleaned both connectors to computer with electronic spray cleaner.
- watched the injector timing with an oscilloscope (~2.5 to 3.2 mS pulse width at or near idle).
- more stuff I can't remember.

What fixed it?   I used GuzziDiag to "reset learning parameters".   Works fine now!

Well done. Now ride it another 59K!
