A friend sent me these pics. I know it's not a Guzzi, but there's a ton o' motorcycle knowledge here. It appears to be a kid sized bike, 16" wheels, motor looks like 50-80CC's. My friend thinks that it dates from the '70's.

Isn't that the Italjet logo from that era ? This could be one of those *Indians* with aftermarket bodywork . Or possibly a Cooper built in Mexico .

That sure looks like a Hodaka engine, first I thought Yamaguchi (original Hodaka engine maker), but the logo is not Yamaguchi. Then, I'm thinking the logo looks like San Tong, who made the Gemini mini bikes brought into US in the 1970's from Taiwan. I'll have to go thru my old mags to find an add to confirm. Googling didn't help.

Dang , that does look like a Hodaka engine . I really think this thing was built using an aftermarket frame and body kit . The frame seems vaguely familiar .

I'll try to get some more pics. I also told my friend to ID the carburetor.

I met this guy last year in full Hodaka leathers. He might know:

Pretty certain there is still one of those logo side covers upstairs at the shop and I may have one here. There's also a pair of Italjet Indians waiting for their next life on the wall of death. I'll look at them again but am agreeing with Dusty- Italjet, Beta, Premier or any one of those circa 70-72 Italian mystery Marques that usually seem to be low mile (i.e.- short running and quickly abandoned...) bikes.
Same logo on this "Indian" side cover-
