Wanted used bike near Tucson

(1/2) > >>

Vagrant:
I'm looking for a needle in a haystack here, but, I need to sell the 2001 EV when I get to Az. this Jan. My old arthritic left hand just can't handle the clutch pull anymore. My V7III is at that point too. I need a tough, good quality, reasonable seat height bike from a private party within 150-200 miles of Tucson. Preferably with wind protection like a 650 VStrom ETC. Bikes with a slipper clutch like a Versys 650-1000, my V85 is fine too. If not the newer Honda NC750XDCT with automatic is a possibilty or maybe their 500. Something with good suspenders is prefered because the roads out there are pothole city.
Needs to be a private party or I have to pay sales tax there and here in Ga. where I will regerister and insure it. Budget $8000-. It just gets used 3 months then it sits for 9.

8k would buy a very nice convert...

Kiwi_Roy:
Have you considered a clutch conversion kit, I have seen two types
For a cable clutch a wheel that mounts onto the clutch arm and gives you a 2:1 advantage. it has a small chain that wraps around the wheel to take up the flexing, I saw one fitted to an old beamer.
A small Hydraulic cylinder that mounts on the back of the gearbox, I have seen those fitted mainly to Japanese bikes doing away with the cable.
Perhaps a foot clutch, that used to work pretty well on old Indians.
Otherwise good luck in your search.

There's another good option you might be able to save a bundle on insurance as well, here in BC its just over $200 for 12 months on a collector plate, no need to touch the clutch at all.

Check on the Tucson craigslist... :thumb:

For $8,000, you should have no problem finding a nice, clean used motorcycle to fit you needs... :boozing:

Are you interested in a 2017 Griso? I was thinking of putting mine up for sale in the spring. Only 3K miles, like new,and with a hydraulic clutch.
Rick.
