2017 V9 Roamer plug gap
tris:
Afternoon All
Could someone confirm what the plug gap should be on 2017 V9 Roamer please?
The manual I have says 24 to 27 thou, but the plugs on the bike are reading 35 thou
Given that the bike has only done a few thousand miles since a service by a main dealer before I bought it, you would hope that they got it right!!
Before I sort it out, I want to check that the manual is right before I blame the dealer
Cheers

Is it reasonable to expect a dealer to check the plug gap?
I tend to think that’s a bit over the top. Why would you think the manual would be wrong?
Antietam Classic Cycle:
NGK's recommended gap is .9 mm/.035".

Kiwi_Roy:
Does anyone change the plug gap these days like we used to?
I just put the plugs in and assume the plug manufacturer have it right.

IMO it's good practice to check plug gaps before fitting
Because MG have a bit of a reputation for iffy manuals. I found a second MGref in the user book that says 0.9mm or 1.98 inches.
I'd also just found the NGK ref
Maybe 0.9 35 thou is right!!!
