It's tough to find an exact analog, but here is an angle no one has mentioned yet: Toyota.  Neither company is cutting edge, and both roll out old designs year-after-year.  Hell, even when Toyata went with new tech in the original Prius, they avoided doing anything cutting edge and made it heavy and slow.

Toyota even made a beautiful new car once with the 2000GT, but unlike Guzzi with the V7, the company isn't smart enough to base a new car on it.

Man,

Toyota is a religiously Lean Six Sigma manufacturing company.  I don't think LSS has been translated into the Mandello Italian dialect, or ever will.

LOL...

Rocker,

Spot on.... If only Alfa Romeo sold the Gulia in a Coupe. I was hoping that after they ironed out the early kinks the first few years that they would make a Coupe and Wagon to really take BMW on. IMO, this is one of the most engaging sedans on the market, even the 4cyl model. The 6cyl is off the hook addicting, but double the $$.

If they sold this, it would be in my garage right now.............

There is some hope in that rumor has it there will be a new Barracuda built on a Gulia chassis, but that was before they started talking all this EV baloney.

Why I'm taking away from this thread is that comparing bikes and cars is extremely subjective.  Apples and oranges as they say.  Entertaining, but not definitive.

None of these suggestions seem to line up with the cost of a Guzzi though.

The Wife's Grand Marquis.  The last of the real cars made in America.  Solid, dependable, big, powerful, fast, comfortable and can be drove all day without any fatigue. She said there is not a car out there that can replace it.

My dad said the same until he drove a Chrysler 300...... He has had it 5 years, has been trouble free and one of his favorite cars of all time.  I once owned a Marauder, was the wife's car that I brought home for her. Lasted a month...... lol.  Hello Minivan (Oldsmobile Silhouette)

I have been thinking on this and I came up with a car. Not modern but a good comparison. VW carmen giha convertable.
Different drivetrain than most cars. Air cooled, with little heat when you need it. Basic power but not really great. Good for going 60MPH when we had the stupid 55 Speed limit. Different styling.

If you could buy a brand new 1986 Suzuki Samurai  it would be the V7 of cars? As much fun to drive as it gets, very little worry about speeding tickets and a horrible suspension. Great as a daily commuter and mountain driver, but not so hot on the interstate.
But wait, you can still buy them new in Mexico.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if they imported them here.

I had a Geo Tracker and it was a great little machine in a lot of ways. I definitely prefer my Wrangler but that new Jimny would be a serious consideration for me if it was sold here. Nice machine.

I bought an '85 Bertone X1/9 new and daily drove it for three years. 100 miles a day through whatever weather (I was considered "essential personnel"). Never let me down and I drove the pi$$ out of it.

I had a 1985 - I LOVED that car!
Also relatively easy and inexpensive to work on. With coilovers on the back and some weight in the
trunk, it was also quite good in the snow with snow tires. And for those of us over 6' tall, there's plenty
of room.

My son has one now - a 1996? He loves it to death.

Certainly not a modern vehicle, or even currently in business. But, Studebaker has many similarities to the venerable Moto Guzzi.
Studebaker, like Moto Guzzi, had always been challenged in financing. Unlike other manufacturers, Studebaker seemed to always be one step behind. All the while, they brought to market many innovative designs, like the early 60’s Wagonaire. Way ahead of its time, it utilized a sliding rear roof.

Similar to Moto Guzzi, Studebaker had great engineering, as well as notable designers, including Raymond Loewy. Like the Moto Guzzi Daytona, Studebaker also had flashes of brilliance, with the Starliner Coupe and timeless Avanti.

Advertising and dealer network was always a challenge for Studebaker, which certainly didn’t help their sales. I see this is an area, which mirrors Moto Guzzi.

Lastly, Studebaker owners are as faithful to the brand as any Guzzi rider,

Yes, I was mistaken, it is Volvo that is Chinese. Didn't realize that about MG. I thought I had seen a story a couple years ago that a Chinese company did a hostile takeover of Tata just after they bought Jaguar and Land Rover marques, but that didn't happen.

Studebaker also developed the Hillholder which Subaru proudly claims to have developed. I owned a couple of Studebaker pickups, they were far better than the competition. Shame that the company was so mis-managed.
