Title: moto guzzi le mans 1( switchgear)

I am restoring a le Mans 1 (series 2) .
Could anyone confirm the correct handlebar switchgear ? Was similar switchgear ( 3 items ) used throughout the entire Le mans 1 production run , or was a different/upgraded item used/( such as the coloured Lego type which appear on the "le mans 2 "models)?

The OEM switch gear for an 850 lemans is $$$
I have a couple of nos left side ones if interested

Of course the first wasn't called LM1 - but who cares if you add the one? It for sure helps others know it definitely isn't a 2 or 3, etc, you're talking about. On the same note, be sure to call the fourth version a LM1000 and not a LM 4. :laugh:

That wasn't the official name from the factory, so NO. :azn:

Frankly, who cares as long as we all know what you're talking about?

Had a friend in high school (Steve) but his mom objected saying his name was Stephen. We all called him Steve anyway - that's what he went by. It's funny how people can get all hung up on labels.

switch gear , 36 years later it's still working fine . Definitely not OEM , but if you intend on using it a lot , an idea :azn:, Peter

I replaced my LM II switchgear with new OEM parts in 1988, as the originals had been abused prior to that. Now, with the bike having been ridden about 70,000 miles in the 32 years since its still in good shape, functionally and cosmetically. The main issue is that it is clamped with long self tapping screws into plastic and if you remove and replace it you need to be careful not to over torque them. Otherwise I’ve found the OEM LMII style switchgear to be OK, and considerably better than the original LM I parts.

2nd summer and finally jammed and came apart inside by the end of that year. Peter
ps; I bought it brand new in Alberta .

Does anyone have a clutch assembly as above that they want to sell?
