Special sport exhaust

2002 special sport, 35,000 miles. Original owner.  Hunting for weeping oil leak , and while pulling exhaust off I see zero gaskets / seals , or remnants of one where they plug into the head. The bike wasnt, loud at all, but has had the Guzzi farts for as long as I can remember, but ran ok in cold, and farting over 80 degrees out. Looks a bit CarbonEd up in the ports. I am seeing gaskets in Maintenance  book. WTH?..
Them pizza tossers didn’t assemble without gaskets did they?

I'll bet you find them if you clean up all the carbon in the port.

I once pulled apart a '74 CB750, had THREE copper crush gaskets on cylinder 4 exhaust ... couldn't see any of them. The previous owners just... kept adding them I guess.
Old enough to say I've done it, young enough to do it again.

Yup 100% with fotoGuzzi on this having pulled apart a 1000 4V and 1100 Sport recently.

Both of these bikes had the gaskets in place but By God it was hard to tell and one or two were even harder to remove.

With the sport it was only after I had the heads off and cleaned up that I noticed the gasket and then it had to be pryed out with screwdriver.

They are really easy to miss
