CL Griso - gorgeous green!
« on: November 13, 2018, 08:39:40 AM »
Wish I could post pics, but this one is a REAL looker. I can see these becoming real collector's items.

Note the dude riding with an open-face helmet...is that really possible with that type of windscreen? His chinstrap must've been strangling him.

And the same year/color for less, with only 3,300 miles??!! How can anyone ride a gorgeous bike so little?

On the low miles thing ... I guess I'm one of those guys ... I usually have between 4-8 motorcycles and about the same number of bicycles ... I have wonderful twisty roads about 1.5 miles from my house  , so I can do a 50 mile ride and it is fantastic.  So once a week per moto, is 2600 miles a year if I rode every week, reduce that by maybe 1/3, so around 1700 miles a year ... that close to what I do, around 1500-2000 miles per year per street moto.

As for the Tenni green Griso , I agree they are gorgeous!  I really wanted one, looked for about 6 months, but those bikes have the flat tappets.  I finally went and bought a brand new 2017 Griso ... was thinking I could have it painted Tenni green, might still do that, but the Black Devil scheme is also nice and I can't bring myself to do it ... yet.      And heck, can get a great paint job for about the price of a fancy rear shock.

Guess I should apologize to any low-milers I may have offended...having the good fortune of owning several bikes is an easy way to compile low miles on any one of them.

I ain't skeered of flat tappets, I'd do the swap myself if it came to that, but I'm sure I'd be fine with an early 2V model. But that Tenni green is killing me, that's the epitome of cool.

Pretty bike but the seller must really like green because he sure wants lots of green for it,  Almost the price of a new noncurrent.  Add says it has been rollerized so that shouldn't be an issue as long as it was done right.

The first bike has been rollerized and the second one has not.

The first add incorrectly identifies 2012 as the only hear for the Tenni.  My 2011 proves otherwise

No need to apologize.  Some people buy Motorcycles on a whim and treat them like art.  Some of us actually ride them 10,000+ miles per year, every chance we get and still ride them on a whim.

Of course after visiting LA a few times I can see why they don't get ridden.

For me riding a motorcycle is part of my Health Maintenance regime.  mental & physical  My back has been much better because of my riding.

Like this! I never, ever knew that insert icon existed, I was always using the "add image to post" routine at the bottom of the page, which always got blocked by my by my work e-mail (yes, I'm at work). Thanks a million:

BTW, this one is even cheaper, and available in Tenni green! About $500 too much in shipping away....

Agreed the Tenni Griso is a breed of it's own. Amazed at what a difference the black headers make to it's 'balance'. That one's got a Mistral and mags....

During the 4 1/2 years I owned my V7 Café Classic, I was riding an average of 25,000 miles a year on two wheels, but only put 750 miles on the Café.  It sat on a table in my shop and I only took it down for a 40 mile ride to keep the parts moving.

The V7 III on the other hand will probably get 2 or 3 thousand miles a year put on it.  The V7 III is just a good looking, but is a much more capable motorcycle.

Love that colour.

Rode without a windshield, in a 3/4 helmet, my entire riding career, until about 3 years ago, Never had an issue with chinstrap-strangulation, BTW.

Still ride in a Biltwell Gringo... which is an open faced, with a chinbar… no issues still.

The windblast in your face doesn't tend to make the helmet act like a parachute? I know I sound naïve because people rode for decades (and still do) without full-face helmets, but I think I recall riding without a fairing one time with my open-face, and at 70 mph it was impossible.

If it fits poorly, maybe? But I've done 700km days on the V7, wearing my Griso Gringo (and 500 km on the CB750 wearing my open-faced) at 115-120 km/h all day, and never really had any concerns. I also had an old 70s 3/4 face, past it's prime, but OHHHHHH-so-Stylish, with the foam shrinking in it, that one would ride up for sure. Id' say fit matters more than style.

That little GIVI did a great job when I had one on the Centauro, before I let my daughter destroy it on her Blast. It's a shame they don't make them anymore, they really looked good on Grisos
