Lots of maintenance the past couple days on this site...
« on: October 23, 2018, 03:43:16 AM »
Did you notice? I hope not.  Here are a few things I've done over the last couple days.
* Went ahead and installed SSL security to conform to new standards and measures. This put me over budget, but needed to be done.
* Optimized all tables and data for 35% faster load response time.
* Updated UTF for search engine optimization. This should allow the search to be even better.

That's it for this round campers. Enjoy.

I hadn't noticed anything unusual.  I've seen on another forum a problem when linking photos from a non-https site where the photos won't show, but all is working just fine on WG--even if the linked sites don't share the same security as WG.  That's good.

I know converting to https isn't free, but future browsers are going to be giving warnings for sites that aren't, and so I don't know that you had much choice.  Well done.  I hope the contributions are enough to cover it.

Hi Luap, First off thanks for all you do behind the scenes. Yesterday I did notice  the profile settings were wonky and asterisks instead of icons. I came back 20mins later and all was normal. I also don't get the whitelist messasge now even though this site has been whitelisted for a while.  All is good, Thanks again!

Did anyone notice anything weird or unusual over the last couple days?

I couldn't see any topics when logging in via the Tapatalk app last night, and when I tried to log out/log back in, I got locked out. I figured you were rearranging some furniture, so I found something else to do. This morning, everything loaded ok. Seems like usual site maintenance stuff.

Thanks for all the work you do here, Luap!

Yeah, I had to disable the whitelist message but will be turning it back on soon.

Yup, that's due to the security changeover. Glad to see that code for future reference too. Thanks.

Quick question Luap,
What ,if any, is the significance of the different colors to our names on the Users Online list? If it's top secret disavow any knowledge of this inquiry
