They are Konis. I'd *assume* Ikons are the same..
Yeah, the Monza is wasted here in the flatlands of Indiana. It's happiest at 8000 rpm hooning through corners.

Happy fourth to all! In response to the engine facing front fender brace, this is the G5 one that I thought all G5 had. Basically the lower forks have the horizontal bolt pattern like the SP and LM1. Those braces tend to break a lot for some reason. The Convert and T3 bolt pattern is verticle and its a different brace part number.

AFAIK, early G5s like mine and Chuck's were little more than Converts with 5 spds. (or T3s with the Convert engine) and had the same fork lowers. Later G5s had the SP/CX100 fork lowers and different rear brace.

It looks like yours also had the SP style lowers with the G5 brace? I know the later ones (like mine) did not have the eagle stamped on them.

Right you are! Ignore everything I wrote previously!

Still, I wouldn't put it past Guzzi to use whatever was on hand when building the early G5s, so Chuck's might have been built that way.

It won't be long now.  It took *much* longer than expected, but the riding weather has sucked all fall, winter, and spring..
That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
