Just watched part two and was disappointed he didn’t mention Guzzi when talking about rear suspension development. Guzzi is the first one to have a workable rear suspension. I’ll look for that reference later if I remember

That would be Stanley Woods in 1935, he won the IOM 250
and the Senior on the Bicilindrica a 120 degree 500cc V twin averaging about 85 MPH in terrible weather.
The bike had springs and friction dampers on the rear.
Apparently this bike influenced the Ducati 40 years later.
