Luap Mc Keever’s gateway drug.
« on: May 24, 2019, 01:49:22 PM »
This damn forum is addictive.
I found myself in Venice today wandering around some of the most priceless pieces of art and architecture imaginable and I actually got a bit shirty because I could not get Wi Fi to get on the forum while I had my 9th cappuccino.
Sometimes I wake at night to go for a comfort break and have a squiz at the forum before I go back to sleep.
I have been guilty of not opening a thread because it looked like there’d be nothing of interest to me and find as soon as I respond to something, I become interested.
Some topics a bit more than others I’ll admit..
The re mapping ones are way beyond my capability and I must learn not to be drawn into one’s like countersteering and such, but it just gets me in.
I’m an absolute sucker when someone says something like..
“******, said so Huzo and he usually knows what’s up so end of story..”
But I am learning to become a bit more mature and not be so easily baited...(even by masterbaiters)
There’s a lot to learn from Joe average and the guys like Roper, Beetle, Dusty, Chuck and electrical blokes like Kiwi What’s his name, leave me eating dust.
Some bugger suggested Roper should write a book.
Best idea I’ve heard for a long time, wit and knowlege are a nice mix.
Yep..
Wild Guzzi...
A gateway drug if ever there was and I don’t care if it kills me, I can give up any time I like but for now I’m hooked.

I thought I could handle it, man. I mean, I've had pepper jellies, before. No big deal, right? How could I have been so naive? So wrong? Life will never be the same.

Yes Luaps the dealer, makes it impossible to quit but the Moto Guzzi Co itself has a lot to answer for. Something this good should probably be illegal  :azn:

Yep. I swapped for a Harley Sport Glide three months ago. Love the new bike, but get bored in the H-D forums where all anyone talks about is whether they are man enough to reach 18” apehangers.

I may be a man without a country here, but at least the conversations are eccentric enough to hold my attention.

You guys who are currently Guzzi-less could take a lesson from David W and enter next year's raffle bike thread , or do like he did and buy the bike outright for a donation to WG after the raffle . Pretty cheap way to get back in the game , just sayin' .

Well that's how I got the 850T, the guy who had it, a friend of mine who also had some Brit bikes, wanted to buy a Harley and needed the money. I think he kept the Harley less than a year before he sold it. He let me ride it once and it was OK, just like every other Harley I've ridden, just OK. He bought a T3 a few years later when he moved outside and as far as I know, still has it. I guess it's whatever turns your crank!

Yep,,, the breadth and depth of the conversations, combined with some of the best gear head knowledge available, this virtual camp fire is a potent combo.

Knowing that this place exists, is a welcome security blanket for guzzi ownership, because for many of us, reality is, there is no local dealer or mechanical support network
