BaT has listed 26 Honda Nighthawks since August of 2019 and 14 in the last year. It’s a good solid bike but not what I would consider collectible or significantly interesting. Maybe someone at BaT owns one?

In the early 2K, I bought a barn fresh '85 650 Night Hawk. It was covered in barn dust & bird crap. Amazingly, all that dust and crap rinsed off to reveal a sparkling bike underneath. It was a pita to get the carbs out for a clean but after doing the usual (forks, frt brakes, tires, batt, etc.) it turned out to be a great running bike. It was a 6 speed and had hydraulic lifters. I remember taking it out and running it up to the redline in lower gears. I regret getting rid of the Night Hawk but used the money to buy a horse trailer so the wife could take her horse to the park and trail ride with her friends.

At the time, the 6 speed gave it a big advantage over all of the other 650s which were still using 5 speeds. I remember wanting one then. No interest now.

I had a 1986 750S (700S) in the USA, it was flawless.

Good cheap way to get someone into motorcycles.

Here's my 1993 Nighthawk 750 in candy tahitian blue. It's what I ride in town, out-of-town, and out-of-state. Self-adjusting valves. For the past several years, the only maintenance has been oil changes and new tires. 15,000 miles....I suppose I should get out more?

Nice lines... :thumb:

Yet BaT has absolutely no interest in my mint one-owner ZX-12R. I've given up on those idiots. Nighthawk...might as well watch paint dry.

That's a completely different animal. I can see the nighthawk 700S being highly collectable in the near future.

A little free publicity can't hurt. Still blindingly fast. If it sells I'll miss it.

Well, back to the Nighthawk....I test rode an ST 1300 once and going from 0-60 in 2nd gear and in 2 seconds was boring...the Nighthawk makes you work for it....and it will get there, eventually...
