loop tire question

(1/2) > >>

bigbikerrick:
Hello Folks, Has anyone fitted a 100 -90-18 rear tire on a loopframe rear to slightly lower the rear, or will that tire be  too small/skinny on the rear of my 73 eldorado?
Thanks
Rick

I've had customer Loops come in with a 100/90 on both ends. Makes it a bit harder to get on the center stand unless you push the rear wheel onto a board first. Will also not lean over as much on the sidestand (could be a good thing). Looks too skinny to my eye, but that's a personal preference.

Turin:
I put slightly shorter shocks on my early Ambo. gave it a nice stance.

bigbikerrick:
Thank you, gentlemen.  I already have progressive suspension 412 shocks that are 1/2" shorter than oem. I also removed the springer seat I had on it,and went back to the OG  2 person seat, and that has helped. I am going to mount the smaller tire  on the rear and see how it works out.  If I dont like it, I can always use that tire in the front.
Rick.

As a solo Eldo rider I

 had this setup

160 Lb. rider Me

110-90h-18 Front

400-18 rear (then I installed 110-90h 18) Avon Road runner .

Over250,000 miles set up that way as the sizes were as close to the original factory sizes 400 18 F-R 110=90 is close

By the way that picture 25 years so the tire Mfg. certainly changed due to what was available at the time
