1974 Eldo Valve Covers on a California Vintage

Last week there was a thread with a beautiful Guzzi which had a square-fin engine with round-fin valve covers on top.

I was inspired to try Eldorado valve covers on a CalVin.  Special thanks to Cam Conklin for supplying the valve covers.  We still need to order the adaptor kits from MGCycle.  So for now these are simply resting in place.

Do you need to put breather lines on those covers?  Not sure what the stock CalVins covers were like.  With those MG adapters, you'll be using two gaskets per side and not sure if you'll need longer screws too.

The Calvin's valve covers don't have any breather lines. So no problems there.

When I order the MGCycle adaptor kits I'll ask about longer screws.

Yes, that is the one.

No.  Coincidently, I took those off my Eldo to install V700 valve covers.  They are distinctly different, and I really like the look.   All smooth with 4 raised bolts, 2 on each side.  Hard to find these days, and very expensive.  USED V700 covers sell for $300+ a pair.

looks nice, but I prefer the Eldo valve covers where the area that has the words moto guzzi, does not stand proud of the rest of the cover... YMMV...

Longer screws are required. I can tell you how long later today, but probably ~ 30 mm length.
