Hi,
When did Guzzi start using valve stem seals in big block 2v motors??

Thanx,

Thanx for response......I was under the impression they did in the late 2V motors. Maybe I am mistaken.

I must say I was surprised at the lack of any valve stem oil seals in my LM2 engine. That said, it doesn't appear to use any oil, at least not noticeably so not really an issue.

As an aside, I have been recently rebuilding a Rover V8 engine from my Land Rover and that too had no valve stem oil seals. However, I am told that it did originally have them but as they were just rubber (no steel housing or springs) they simply break up and 'disappear' over time.

Now rebuilt with modern seals but that required replacing the valve guides.

I was wrong, I have very limited experience with anything past '03. Pete Roper sent me this correction in an email:

Last of the 2V-1100's and 1200's, Griso, Sport, Norge and I think the Cali Classic and Vintage all used seals. I think it was from MY 2007 but I'm not certain.

2nd series Breva 1100 in 07, 06 Breva no seals. All 1100 2Vs after had them.
Even I had to look it up, can't remember everything.  My friends 1100 Griso has them, 1st I saw at the time.
