Want a new fun, inexpensive lite motorcycle?
« on: September 14, 2018, 04:02:27 PM »
Get one of these.
I have been having a great time on my 16. 250 tt.  It has been bulletproof so far, and great big fun to ride.   There are not your dads Chinese motorcycles.   www.cscmotorcycles. com

My RX3 (same company, just the dual sport model...OK, also FI, water cooled, e start) and build quality has been exceptional.  They cut a few corners.  Suspension was ready for upgrade (just like my V7), chain has about 5K miles life, battery was good for about 2 years.  Otherwise no complaints and I have about 8K miles on the beast.  In my mind I find this bike to be exactly what I need for all but a coast to coast blast on the Interstate.  The bike would do it but I would not be having fun.  As for the TT250, if you have access to dirt it's a whole lot of fun for a small investment.  I have to remind myself that my last few new bikes have each depreciated more in the first year than these CSC bikes have cost OTD.

I took a close look at these while I was out Seattle way and considering exploring the whole idea of Dual Sport riding. Everything just felt so cheap couldn't bring myself to do it. Glad you like it though!

A thread just started on ADVrider by a guy who just bought a San Gabriel.  It looks like a mini Yamaha Seca.  It's less than half the price of a TU250 and about a third of what a SR400 costs.  They're tiny though.  If you're a shorter rider with an open mind and some mechanical ability I think the CSC bikes make sense.

I saw this bike at the Moto Guzzi dealership in El Paso.

The fit and finish, paint quality, and sound of the engine was pretty sweet.

The San Gabriel do have a low seat, I haven't seen one yet, but they do look smaller than I think I could take.

The TT250 on the other hand is larger ergonomically than any Guzzi I have ever had!  It is certainly more comfortable and has a higher seat height, I think it's about 33.5" or so.  It's pretty much a full size enduro, it's not crazy high like some super serious moto's but it's certainly around the same size as any competitor.

The All-Purpose Motorcycle. BEST Motorcycle Value in the U.S.
The CSC TT250 Enduro has redefined the affordable dual-sport motorcycle. ONLY $2,195.00 including shipping, Motorcycle.com magazine named the TTR250 Enduro the BEST motorcycle value in the US!

The lightweight TT250 is equipped with everything you need for dual-sport riding: 18-inch rear and 21-inch front wheels with knobby tires, hydraulic front and rear disk brakes, adjustable suspension front and rear, 300-watt alternator for accessories, handlebar switches pre-wired to underseat outlets, a comfortable seat and more.

The CSC TT250 Enduro is the perfect motorcycle for riding trails, commuting to work, or touring the countryside. The high ground clearance and adjustable suspension will tackle off-road riding. The snappy air-cooled, counter-balanced engine will take you through the woods or down the highway. The TT250 is a motorcycle that is basic yet supplied with features not available on competitive bikes costing more than twice as much. Simplicity is combined with proven design and manufacturing – and then delivered from CSC direct to your door for unbeatable savings!

The 230cc motor used in the TT250 Enduro (and the CSC SG250 San Gabriel) is a modernized version of the “world-design” motorcycle CG engine first developed back in 1975. This new engine was specifically designed for durability and minimal maintenance.

CSC TT250 Enduro appeals to two types of riders. First is riders who want a basic, all-purpose motorcycle. These riders appreciate the nimble handling and performance of the 230cc engine in the lightweight chassis, along with the minimal maintenance requirements.

The second category of CSC TT250 Enduro owners are experienced dual-sport riders who want to customize their bike for their own style of riding. These TT250 riders will customize their bike for hard-core off-road with heavy knobbies and a full-coverage aluminum skid plate. Or they install higher gearing for commuting down the highway, or even swapping street tires for a Super Moto thrill!

Everyone loves the LOW price: the 2018 CSC TT250 Enduro is available NEW, including a 12-month unlimited mileage warranty, for ONLY $2,195.00.

The TT250 Enduro is supplied with CSC’s free Service Manual and online tutorials for virtually every maintenance and repair operation. The CSC TT250 is covered by a 12-month, unlimited mileage parts warranty.

I have ordered parts. No issues at all.  They have everything in stock in CA.  That's easier to do when you only sell a few models and the bikes do not change much year to year.  As for authorized service centers....I'm only aware of one in the US.  You will have to either find a local independent shop that will work on the bike or do the work yourself.  I go the latter route and use the CSC tutorials.  There is also an online post of the NC250 factory service manual that is very helpful if you want to dig into the engine.  Oh, and if you have a problem you can call CSC and talk directly to Steve, the owner.  Try to do that with Honda, BMW, Ducati, Guzzi, or just about any other brand.

If that TT250 only lasts one riding season you are still ahead based on depreciation of other bikes.  Ride the TAT across country, donate the bike at the other end for a tax credit and have a great adventure!

I already have 2k on mine and have only adjusted the chain twice, changed the oil twice and that is it!  I checked the valve lash, pretty much just like doing a Guzzi, you know, push rods and rockers, easy peasy!

But for you guys who really want something special, turn to Janus motorcycles!    Made just just down (up, around whatever) from our own much loved Chuck in Indiana.   For $7000 you can own a highly obsolete design, but with the exact same power train!!!   Www.Janusmotorcycle s.com
