That means I have to add the sports channels to my Directv.. not happy about that..Is MotoGP on Bein tv again too?

interested in your experience watching these races on line instead.. what's the cost for Moto GP, I think it's over $100  ?? and that won't include WSB, right?

In WSBK Ducati is still the V2.  In MotoGP it's the new V4.

But this year the dominant Kawis have a lower rpm max than they were allowed last year.  We'll see if it helps everyone else keep up.

BTW, Troy Bayliss (50) has come out of retirement and is racing again in OZ SBK this weekend there too.  He qualified in 3rd (front row) for their race.

Both WSBK & MotoGP are available on the same channel of Dish.  I pay $10 more a month than we were already paying on Dish to get these 2 race series added on.

Thanks for the heads up.. I added the sports pkg for $13.99 and he gave me 3 mo's free..

I guess now I'll have to delete last years MotoGP races to make room on my DVR (I only have 23% space left)..? what were the special races from last year that I should watch again before I trash them?

wow.

Best WSBK race I've seen.  They need to make mandatory pit stops in all the races.

I think they clipped the Kaw's wings with rev limit.  just a little little bit.

Hard call on the races; it was a pretty good year. I liked Austria for the last lap attempt by Marquez and France for Zarco's tenacity.

I think they clipped the Kaw's wings with rev limit.  just a little little bit.

There are new rules to limit all manufacturers rev limit, I thought they said to a little bit over stock limits.  They said many thought the Ducs would be hurt the most but it looks like the reverse happened.  Through the year the limits are supposed to change for each brand depending on race results. So based on this first weekend, the Ducs may get limited a bit more or the Aprilia, MV, Honda's and Kawasaki's allowed a higher limit.

This is all about making the racing closer. Seems to be working to keep the green in check. I need to re-read the rules to understand it fully.

Next race at Thailand will be interesting tp see what happens as it is very different from PI. I hope the rules guys do a good job to avoid the lobbying and picking a winner. Close road racing is fun to watch.

Oh crap, I said it, and now the Flat Track guys are gonna show up and do their thing.

Darren, you  mentioned Flat Track, saw this at the Jeff Williams show yesterday.

Here's the Indian customer Flat Track Racer, $50k.  The local Indian shop is going to sponsor it for rider #49.

A street version of that would have me checking my wallet and thinking I need to cut back on eating anyway!

There’s a very good explanation of the new rules on the most recent Common Tread from Revzilla.  It sounds to me as though this series is moving toward some strange kind of spec racing.

It sounds to me WSBK is turning into oval NASCAR racing.

I can see Dorna wanting to separate this series from MotoGP by making the 'lower' spec motorcycles closer to what the manufacturers sell. Forcing the competition to tighten up certainly won't hurt the ticket/rights sales. It is still racing, they still turn left and right, and victory it is still very much the hands of who is on the machine.

Regarding a street performance Scout, I talked to guy there about it.  He mentioned that Indian had already deleted the Youtube of the Street Tracker and had no notion that Indian would ever make a Street Tracker or a Cafe Racer version.  He  reinforced to me how most people don't want mid mounts or rear sets.

I also asked the guy what his sponsored rider would be riding on the short tracks and he seemed puzzled with the question and didn't know.

I think the new rules have the riders use the same bikes on all tracks-separated by class of bike.

I wonder if Pirelli will get their act together?

but the mandatory pit stop made for better racing on the 2nd race.

Remember Michelin had the same thing at MotoGP. They had a mandatory mid race bike change.
