Title: Clutchadjustment
Post by: Terry Reedy on February 10, 2019, 06:38:54 AM
Does anyone have a pic of the clutch push rod adjustment, I found the 75mm spec. But not a pic or diagram of the reference points ?

I should mention I just installed a SD clutch kit so maybe the 75mm is not correct ?

Sure would be nice to know what model we are discussing.

You measure from the flat case where clutch cable gets inserted. From that flat that the back cover gets mounted to--- to the center of the round inserted end on cable that is in the arm end.
There is a pic in the G5/SP1000 book.

Here, I edited someone else's pic.

and I found this one in my files:

I don't think the dimension is all that critical.  What is important is that the lever does not 'bottom out' anywhere against the transmission casting or the frame when you pull fully on the handle and that the lever does not 'top out' anywhere against the frame when you fully release the handle.

Make sure the tension spring hasn't fallen out.

my memory is old but seem to think it was more like 30mm.. at least on a Convert but it's a pretty similar design.. don't make me dig for the source.
