Only if you pour non-synthetic 10w40 on them before you use your Taser on them.

As a fan of Walking Dead...

You don't have to survive the dead for a long time.  After a while the dead begin to rot and that makes them really easy to kill with just a stick or a knife.  Then real threat is from other people trying to take your survival gear or eat your flesh.  Oh and you have to be quiet because the last part of the dead to rot is obviously the ears.

I enjoy the WD.  But I can't figure out with all these dead decaying bodies constantly splashing all over the living, as far as I can tell everybody stays healthy??

Pretty big omission I think, but it would certainly change the dynamics of the show if rotting flesh could cause disease right?

That's right Chad, only causes disease AFTER sex, or if bitten.

It was revealed at the end of the first season that everyone in the world was already infected, it just manifests after you die. It doesn't explain why bites kill them faster though.

What I'm wondering is why people are worried about Zombies (which no one has ever seen one) and not worried about Meth-heads (which we know are all around causing trouble)?

Maybe they don't make very good movie material?

These things are usually open to much debate, but this is not; aside from maybe the Andy Griffith Show, Breaking Bad is/was the greatest television series in the history of the medium.

Breaking Bad, we liked it, partly cause we live in the area.  Fun to visit sites of the show.  Loyolas, favorite diner of Mike, is across the street from my favorite gun shop.

While the wife loves Walking Dead, it is so far beyond reality it just doesn't make sense to take it seriously.  More likely would be surviving an EMP blast, a flu endemic (The Stand), or other such.  Your worst dangers would be your 'neighbors'.

No one has ever seen?

Funny that. My wife and I are big fans of zombie, vampire, werewolf, whatever entertainment as long as it's either well made or entertainingly, badly made.
That past - we, living here in Arizona - the Mecca of prescription and non-prescription drug abuse - observe "zombies" on a daily basis. Sometimes they're in a store, restaurant or behind the wheel of an SUV/Mini-van/Mercury Marquis and are jollily moving through life endangering and enraging the rest of the world due to their (legal) drug induced STUPOR. Other times - they'll be the currently stoned/post stoned/post abuse brain dead left behid by meth abuse.

"Zombies?" -  Say you? As I live and breath says I.

Todd.

Pretty big omission I think, but it would certainly change the dynamics of the show if rotting flesh could cause disease right?

I agree.  Too much body fluid splashing around everywhere.  The good guys wouldn't last long in the real world, getting that much blood and gore splashed on them at every confrontation.

I guess I haven't watched the show enough to understand the premise.  If the zombies are living people who have become infected with a virus, eventually the virus will kill/disable them. Eventually the zombies will all die and only healthy people will be living.

They do touch on the largest danger in a pandemic like this:  Your neighbors.  Survivors fighting over limited resources would be the biggest fear and danger.  Seems the smart thing to do would be head for the remote hills and wait it out.  But, that wouldn't make a very good TV show.

Lots of wasted ammunition, too.  And they're not making it anymore.  Ammo is heavy.  I regularly wonder where they're carrying thier reloads, and where thier supply of ammo is coming from when they're pumping round after round into walkers.

I love sci-fi.  Star-Trek, Star Wars, etc., so I can do the "suspension of disbelief thing.  I just have a hard time doing for shows like Walking Dead.

According to the TV show, everyone has the virus and once you die from natural causes or by being bitten by a Zombie you will then become a Zombie. The only way to kill one is by smashing, etc. their head(something about the brain?) but being sprayed by the blood doesn't seem to be the problem provided one doesn't open your mouth, etc.  Also, they try not to use to much ammunition because the sound attracts other Zombie's so spikes, arrows, knifes are the preferred method of killing the monsters.

Far fetched? Of course, and I believe the fascination is what these people (yourself) would do under those conditions.

It hasn't Jumped the Shark yet and it will hopefully end before they get that close.

Breaking Bad was a better show IMO but WD is entertaining.

Breaking News
The Guzzi Apocolypse began earlier today in the villages around Mandello and promptly spread throughout most of Europe when the small but historical firm announced the release of a V7 model with 180 rear wheel horsepower, a dry weight that beats all challengers, and every single red suspender complaint answered and amended.  Here is a live picture outside the factory's doors.

Amercans began to worry until they learned this disease will not reach our shores until next year if even then.

Anyone in the know realizes that WD is fantasy. If you want the REAL deal, you need to get Max Brook's Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z.  Both tremendous and packed with helpful hints.
