What have you bought lately ?
« on: February 03, 2023, 05:21:33 AM »
We bought new jackets.

It appears that the armor has sorta disintegrated in this seven-year-old Joe Rocket jacket.  They replied to my email query with "this is common on older riding gear", and recommended that I replace the jacket.

So yes, we bought new jackets. Meh, the zippers were getting testy, anyway.

Bought a new to me (1000 miles on her) 2021 v7 Stone Centenario, and ordering some wheel chocks so I can load it into my trailer to travel since I don’t have bags for it yet.

For Christmas to myself I replaced my very favorite first motorcycle jacket from decades ago, which my wife has worn since we got married, with a nearly new (and larger…) identical brand jacket.  I’ve been watching for one for at least a decade.

Hit by a car riding my motorcycle to work last august. Had to buy a new rod for my femur yesterday. Here is the old one they removed.

Now what to do with it?

A veterans vanity plate for my Monster. CT DMV makes you give them four choices. Won't know which one I'll get until it shows up in the mail.

My SoCal gloves gave out, so went to the local Cycle Gear. They had a 3 foot cube of close out, discontinued, etc. gloves. Rummaged around in there and finally found a pair of Sedici "race" gloves just like I paid big bucks for a few years ago, and have held up *really* well. Just my size. White. That's probably why they didn't sell and I don't care what color they are.  :thumb: Some days you get the bear.

Bought these
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HPLCKA4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I strapped them onto my C-bow mounts and they look good. No picture yet.
Cut a piece of 1/8 inch plywood to square up the bottom.
Not as functional or water resistant as my hepco-becker, but hold everything for local riding.

I like the ole school angle zip, Marlon Brando type jackets. I’ve got a 1984 model Schott that I bought new in 84. It still wears great and fits like it did then.

Thanks, Danny.  This jacket is a Dallas Leathers by Chrome Specialties, nice leather with all brass hardware. Probably mid 80’s, not certain.  I got my old jacket at a pawn shop about 5-6 miles from here a long time ago, back when the pawn shops weren’t all franchised.  I know it’s not the armored ATGATT-approved version, but I’m still happy to have it.  I love the way old brass looks and it sure feels good to wear.

it’s all waxed up and ready to ride, whenever the clouds et all finally clear.   Someday…

John -

We'll be "sportin" nothing but the finest closeout gear.  Something imported.  Fine China.

Dude, when you have 17 smouldering horsepower, you gotta be fly.  :afro:

Shorty -

The Cycle World dyno says 17.7 horsepower.  Your bike is modified, and so I make it to be at least 20 horsepower.  Be should be especially careful of whiplash....
