Title: Memphis (if you haven't heard)

somebody missed....

the desoto bridge over the mississippi river has a "crack"
no traffic over or under the bridge is being permitted.
just can't get passed the previous inspection didn't see any issue ???

no gas out east, no crossing the big divide. what's next ??

really sucks, I'll bet the 55 bridge is packed.

Don't underestimate the power of that river.

A good welder would have that fixed right up. Maybe even fishplate it.   :evil:

Brings back memories of the I-35 bridge failure in 2007, except that it actually fell into the Mississippi River.

Just extend that doubler-plate up another foot and put another 100 or so rivets in it...done.

According to news reports, it may be awhile before you cross it again.  Which sucks for me, since I was planning on riding across it on my way to Little Rock.  So now I've got to decide, do I chance it sucking on diesel fumes stuck waiting to cross on the I-55 bridge, or add two hours riding down to Helena, Arkansas and cross there?
