I'd like to see a photo of the final assembly, with the original switch box in place.

That is the final assembly, I'm leaving the levers exposed. I like the puzzled looks as guys try to figure out how they work.
Thanks for the link, I can get screws if not in the hardware stores I'll pop over the line to Ace Hardware.

I took a picture of the Aluminum prototype, you can just make out one of the 2 Amp reed switches on
the underside of plate at the bottom, there is no mechanical link between the lever and switch, just magnetic field.

I used a bit of Cat 5 cable, the Mk II uses nice small black cable from an old PC keyboard

You should see what Kiwi Roy did with a reed switch on his speedo of his V11 Sport. Pure genius!
