Just fine. In the era that the cafè racers recall, sporty motorcycles tended to be smaller than that.
Nice bike. And the CX has a great engine.

If you want to show us a fun cafe you made or bought there's no need for pretense. Looks fun.  :thumb:

If you are really asking if that bike makes your butt look big, you're on the wrong forum.     :boozing:

There is no such thing as too small, within reason.  On really tight curves my Yamaha DT100 is just the right size, and I'm 6'2".

I always liked the water pump (as well as my current ditch pump :)  ).

If a cafe bike doesn't look small something is wrong.  Nice job on it.

Good proportions.   Small and light is good, fast, efficient.   Big and heavy is bad, slow, sloppy.

The ultimate cafe racer is a BSA Gold Star Clubman, and they're a lot smaller than that Honda.

I think sometimes we get so used to seeing really huge motorcycles that the ones that are just big seem small.  Recently I stopped by a neighbor's house on the Mille and the woman looked at it and said "Oh, a little street bike."

Fay and I were on the Norton, in town, and a friend of hers who rides sometimes with her husband on some big 1800cc V-twin was there.   She asked where we were going, and we said Tennessee ... she couldn't believe it.  "On that tiny little bike?" she said.

I mean, it's an 850 Norton.   A 1970s SuperBike.   A rompin' stompin' rootin' tootin' 12-second quarter mile do-the-ton bike.   Lucky for me I have no "Size" hangups and we rode to Tennessee anyway, without having to visit my therapist first.

But the "Big Bike" marketeers won the hearts-and-minds battle for the modern motorcyclist years ago ....

A couple years ago I was at the Deals Gap 2-stroke meet and a guy showed up from Chigago on a 100cc Yamaha, having ridden it the whole way.

I thought a poor man's Guzzi was a ratty old Tonti, like an 850T or T3. I didn't know they came cheaper.  :afro:

A 50cc Van Veen Kreidler GP racer is a small motorcycle.   I don't know about the minds.

Nice build on that CX500.  Nothing wrong with that bike!  Enjoy!  :thumb:  :1:

By the way, I almost bought a KREIDLER like these when I lived in Germany! Cool little bikes!

Nice bike  :thumb:
I've got 2 CX500's myself. Both Aussie import customs. Currently rebuilding the engine of one.
Great little bike, done 20,000k on mine. Gets a lot of attention and I'm always having people come up to me and say "I used to have one of those" and.... "London couriers used those" If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that I'd be able to extend my Guzzi collection!  :bike-037:
I'm in the local classic club and it's well accepted amoungst the BSA's Nortons and other "real" classics.

The only person who doesn't seem to like it is the Vrod rider who won't wave to me when I'm on the CX but always waves first when I'm on the Guzzi. Snob!

Too small?  Nope.  About right.  My tastes were formed in the 1970s, starting with a Yamaha RD350.  I just don't get the *huge* bikes that are all the rage today.  Not knocking those who like them; just not my cup of tea.

Yes, is way to small. You look like a dork.............. Why not just give it to me

Those are great motorcycles, I remember years ago reading a story about a guy who ride his around the globe, even had to disassemble it and load it into canoes in a few remote places.

But kidding aside dude, if you love it ride it............. who cares how it looks, who cares what others think. It is your ride, RIDE it.......... Now if you are a poser 'boutique hipster' who rides 200 miles a year for show, and your bike is a fashion statement.......... .. well, do that bike justice sell it to someone who will ride it like they stole it and go buy a sportster 883 ;-)     lol

Only thing that looks small to me is the gas tank - then again, I think anything under 6g/24l is small!
