Seriously the current 03 EV Maroon Touring that NC Steve posted from EBay is what your looking for.
mine came with dual clutch plate, and fuel filter outside tank, but also had electric fuel valve that had to be replaced.  Great Bike

That is gorgeous, just for reference tough, the Touring had the funky fairing and lowers in front of the floor boards.

This is our '04 EV T that we bought new in '04 which, at the time of these photos was wearing an Aerofoil Fairing, not the stock unit.

So, you are telling us that the '03 was not included in the single plate clutch situation...?  Is it a Hydro..?

Thanks,
Rob

Radguzzi
My 03 EV came with double clutch plates,it had 4500 miles on it when I got it in 05, it didn't have the top end warranty work done but needed it by 5800.

My opinion about the current 03 on eBay being a EV Touring was based on the bags, In the 4 National rallies and multiple state rallies I've been to since 05 I've only seen matching color inserts on the Touring models. I also had one of the funky touring fairings which was soon replaced by a Aerofoil, And most of the Touring model Ive seen had the lowers removed so I just assumed ( and I'm probably wrong ) that this was a touring version which had been modified.

Some of the differences I've found in 03EV s include the fuel pump in the tank on some and out on others like mine. Also the electric petcock some had them some didn't.

But isn't this typical Guzzi of that era, they used what ever parts happened to be in the bin that day when the factory assembled the bikes.
Which I've been told is why when they had to do recalls they had to include all the bikes of a certain model and years because they had no idea which bikes got which parts, like the triple tree lower bracket needing to be replaced, which We also had to do on my 03 EV and my wife's 04 Stone Touring.

This reminds me how fortunate we are to have Wild Guzzi, how on earth would an individual be able to keep track of this without the collective memory and expertise of this group.

I saw that arveno...  Appears to be a modified Jackal although hard to say for certain, I cannot see the entire dash.  Looks like a Cal Special front fender, cool just the same.

Unfortunately I only have one POS T-3 project to offer or  I would have called him.

Plus I simply want another EV.

Thanks,
Rob

Correct Dave,
All good info too, thanks.

I was in hopes to have secured one from the Upper Midwest but I have not heard back from the seller for a couple of days which is why I am still huntimg.
I'll call him later today to see if I need to move on.  Hope not.

Rob, let me PM you some pics of a '99 EV belonging to a friend of mine that lives outside DC. I don't know if I'd say it was perfect, but it's very nice, with Givi hard bags and a Corbin seat, and is getting a tune up and new brakes as I type this. I found the bike for him about a year ago, in Raleigh, NC. He says he's not needing to sell, but also isn't adverse to discussing it either.

That bike belongs to Larry Chabira, aka Lamont Sanfurd on eBay, a longtime rider and big seller of Guzzi and BMW Airhead parts; you might've done business with him. Since it's a '98, I'm guessing it's a modified EV, as the Jackal first came out as a 2000 model. Larry often parts out bikes, so it couldn't hurt to approach him with your T3 project and a little $$, if you're interested.

Yeah, that's right, '98 so it must just be a pieced together rider from an EV, lots of parts there if you at the attachments.  Anyway, I may give him a call.

Thanks Steve.

And to answer this, see the next post.

Thanks for posting this though.  I do like the '99 EV as well.

I just committed to buying an '04 EV Touring that has a great maintenance history, I know one of the previous owners and feel very confident in the purchase and just what I was hoping for.

Thank you all for the leads, tips and conversation regarding these wonderful machines.

Have a look...

Rob

For now, yes.  The previous owner has ties to the MGNOC and is a fanatical wrench.

What does that make for you, [radguzzi], in your serial monogamy Guzzi lifestyle - number twenty?
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Rob,

Congrats, it looks sharp!  Could you share just what makes the 04' different and more desirable, than say an 01, or 03 or other years?

Excellent find I've always liked the Maroon Touring. But than I'm biased since my 03,EV is the same color. I really like the added detail of the color inserts on the Hepco  Beckers , they are getting harder to find. I also wish mine had the chrome gas tank detail, but like the song say "you can't always get what you want"  But then mine does give me what I need.
Happy Riding.

Yes, gorgeous.

Both true...

Rob,

Congrats, it looks sharp!  Could you share just what makes the 04' different and more desirable, than say an 01, or 03 or other years?

Thanks, I'm excited about the EV. The recalls were done early on, very well sorted machine with low miles.

I only wanted another '04 or a '99 due to having had (still have the '99)  one of each.  I liked the performance of the '04, I had equipped it with Lafranconis and a couple of cool mods.

It's not that the others are less desirable although I did also want to avoid the single plate clutch and all that.

Plus to make the search to seem even more impossible, I wanted only one or two of the available colors also...  lol

Best,
Rob

Yes, he had the Vegas dealer do the cam, I think they also sold customs at that shop.
