I’m a dipsomaniac and I wouldn’t drink here so it must be a cocktail lounge.

I know it says it has food but I’ve been reliably informed that it is where the young professionals come to get drunk and laid.
Crap, I could have gotten something like that a long time ago. The only "Cocktail bar" I've found is downtown Indy, and I really didn't want to ride there.

The small local doughnut truck wasn't in it's usual place so this is the fall back. This probably won't be popular but I'm not really a fan of their doughnuts, way too sweet for my taste.

Tag is a historical site that is a private residence and of course it has to have a plaque. In this particular case the residence is not historical but the location is the principal interest.

Locomotive and caboose are survivors of the Western MD RR. Trolley car once roamed the rails of the Hagerstown & Frederick Railway.

AAAAhhhh.  And what a thread that was.  Each evening I would dive for the 'pooter to see what the Great One (along with Leafman and Blackcat) had got up to.

Ya just couldn't make that stuff up!  Hilarious :thumb:

And now, back to normal transmission.

Grab grab grab. The thread worked as intended. Got me to The Greene County Historical Society. Not far from me but I’d never visited. Couldn’t park very close but that’s the train in the shed.

Places like this are cool- I got to climb around on it.

This little guy was behind it. Can’t remember the name for these little guys. Switching engines?

I looked on their website http://www.greenecountyhistory.org/ and information about the steam locomotive (or any of the railroad stuff) isn't covered at all. Was there any information on-site about them? The yellow one is your typical industrial switcher engine.

New tag. Repeat, because I liked it last time. A vehicle of any type, older than you.

Couldn’t park too close. Better shots:

Charlie: I’ll see if I can find some more info on that train.

Yeah, the website has no info.  I found it on their FB page.

https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10224667347296815&set=gm.3102392389871955

I only found that page because George Blystone posted it on the Foundry page.  He has some cool stuff on there

https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=508868519565351&set=a.113700629082144

There was a fellow at the Historic Society working on the train building and he told me that the locomotive was the last one used on the local Waynesburg to Washington PA passenger route.  Is the term a "construct"?  The engine last ran in the 80's and he hopes to have it up and running again in the next few years.

There is other neat stuff there (there were no other visitors, of course.  These local museums are woefully underappreciated) and I think we will go back to see it in the next few days.  If you want any specific pictures or particular questions asked, just let me know.

Thanks for that. Looks like they have an enthusiastic group working to preserve the locomotive and coach. If they're planning to run the locomotive again, the 1472 day inspection will need to be done prior to that. Not an inexpensive or easy thing to do, most of the locomotive is disassembled and the boiler inspected.

The U.S. Federal Railroad Administration requires every steam locomotive to have the boiler inspected after 1472 “service days” (the number of days in four years) of operation, or every fifteen years. The inspection includes ultrasonic measurements of thicknesses of the boiler shell, and visual inspection of the boiler and firebox. The regulations were rewritten to take effect in 2000.

The East Broad Top RR in Orbisonia, PA is doing two of their locomotives right now.

Yeah, but the rules that I stole from advrider says you can repeat tags.  I hope to ride this afternoon-- I can always make a new one if you like.

I couldn't find a car older than me that wasn't moving, so it's going to be a train though I'm not sure of it's age but it looks old to me:

The tag is just a water view, in this case it also contains one of the 20 barges that broke loose in our recent hurricane and ran aground but it has nothing to do with the tag.

The new bridge in the background was taken out of service from one of those barges beating the new pilings until a section collapsed in the storm.

Off subject, but one of the many sunken boats from the storm.

Our property is pretty much cleaned up and I still need to rebuild some fences but I'm waiting for the lumber yard hysteria to calm down before loading up the el Camino.

Leafman got it worse than we did, approximately 75 tree's down on his land. He said that it's like a bomb went off.

What's up with you guys?  At least 1/4 of the users of this site are retired, IE they don't have jobs!   Why aren't we getting more folks playing?  At this point 488 looks have been taken at this thread, and a pathetic 5 of us have actually made an attempt to play.  Let's go girls, its fun and easy, it gives you a destination instead of wondering aimlessly around the highways and byways of the world!   None of us care who wins, in fact the way I think we are playing there might not be any winner, but lets play for the fun of it.  Don't pay any attention to the time restrictions shown in the rules, we are Guzziesta, we don't have time for time restrictions!

Chad, although I am retired my bike is still off the road for winter.

However, D-0Day is approaching! :thumb:  :bike-037:
