Just taking another look at those wheels.
They could not possibly look better. That is EXACTLY how they should have come from Mandello...  :thumb:
Thanks Huzo , after seeing what you did I had to make the leap, at least on the rims.  I love the look of polished but didn’t want the extra maintenance.  I love the way this bike looks stock, but a few little touches really sets it off!

Absolutely...
If I could have the same finish as yours but in a subdued silver, I would have chosen that, but the kicker was also the reduced cost for me. However, you have the considerable benefit of a new set of standard wheels to sell.
Was the $1,600 for the rims assembled to your hubs, or the whole lot ?
Either way, it looks spectacular IMO.

The rims came complete with new hubs and bearings.  All I had to do was swap the rotors and put new tires on.  I just double checked on what I paid, it was just shy of $1500.00us.

They also come with 90 deg valves and one other thing you have to move over from the old wheel is the cush rubbers for the rear drive, trivial job once you convince yourself the rubbers just pull out of the rim and you aren't damaging them by pulling them off.

Mine didn’t come with 90 degree valves.  I sprayed a little silicone under each Cush rubber and they popped right out.

Thanks for that tip!  I'll keep it in mind 8000 miles from now, when I'm thinking of changing the wheels.

Alas, the Caponord front fender does not fit the V85.

Anyone who would like a good deal on a Caponord front fender should pm me.

That looks like a different fender-
Aprilia Caponord 1200 Rally front fender is what fits, part #2B0024475.
Here is mine- it fits ok.
(I added a small triangle of neoprene to mine)

Hmm.  My fender is part no. 2B003404, which is the number from an earlier post in this thread.  Caveat emptor,  I guess.

Could you elongate the mounting holes with a round file, thereby turning them into "slots" to increase the tyre/mudguard clearance?

Before I went back to school I was a construction worker in Wyoming.  Construction joke (said to carpenter apprentice  by journeyman):  “I’ve cut this board three times, and it’s still too short.”

Im about to pick up a V85 TT Travel (about 99% sure) took for a test ride sat, Went through this listing and saw some good points, Im 6'2, 34" legs and I saw someone had the tall comfort seat-for those that have this, did you find it made a difference leg wise and comfort wise or none at all and I also saw someone removed the back rest wedge and that gave more wiggle room backwards-didnt know that could be removed and if so, did it have to be altered much, I have lower back issues and thought that might actually help as it rests against it

I did a rough estimate and the Travel has about 2000 in options if bought separately...

The Travel is a great model - I have an Adventure. I suggest you try riding the bike with the stock saddle as many really like it. You can always get a tall saddle later if it's not working for you. You can also take the rubber inserts out of the pegs for a bit more leg room. At 5-11 but short 30" inseam I bought the low comfort saddle as I found the stock a bit too high.

I fitted the High comfort saddle, SW motech footrests (about an inch lower and wider) and bar risers (about an inch) It opens up the ridding position well for me 6Ft 2in and 34 inside leg. The bar risers were just kicking about the workshop but I like them.Other than that a centre stand, Heated grips ( I live in Scotland!!) and various screens to minimise Buffetting. Settled on A Puig copy for BMW 1200 gs Which is pretty good for colder weather and a minimal screen for the three days of summer

Appreciate the comments, Borderer: did you find the gel/tall seat made much of a difference and was it actually more "comfortable" I often wnder if adding a 1" seat pad for $25 from walmart for atvs trimmed and sewed back w/ fishing wire would have the same effect

The standard Caponord mudguard is for a 17" wheel and does not fit. It's the Caponord Rallye front mudguard that fits. I have one on mine and it fits perfectly.
The part number for the correct mudguard is 2B001431.

Posted my Cheap Inner Fender on another thread. If you're going in the slop at all you'll either want something to control spray or enjoy cleaning your bike after a ride.

Crash bars, center stand are pretty essential. Seat and windscreen to your liking.

Without a doubt, a cup holder for coffee on the go. just clips onto the mirror stalk.
It's worth it for the startled look you get from the drive through staff.

Magnetic change tray, only in Canada eh!
Nowdays I just have a slot for my tap card.

Some of the mods I did to mine were purely cosmetic. Some were a definite improvement, but the one that I’d say was a standout, is the Denali auxiliary spots.

Hard to say really, I found the standard seat ok for 300 mile+ runs, same with the gell seat That was last year before we had lockdown seems a bit more uncomfortable this year. But I think I will toughen up in that area with a few more miles, ( or pay a few visits to miss Whiplash!)

Where are you guys buying the OEM accessories from? Is there a reasonable online store or do I have to get it through the dealer?
