Also I like to hear what could be the other potential uses of the technology (for good or bad) by professionals... film production, rescue, survellance and ?
Under 50 lbs just a hobby model, not commercial. Over 50lbs considered commercial. A 50lb drone would be big.FAA is not law.As far as I know no one has been convicted under FAA; notwithstanding any civil suits of which I have no knowledge.
As far as I know 50 lbs is the difference between hobby vs commercial. Easy enough to find (not my point). If you have a commercial license they probably could level a fine. If you fly a hobby craft, even a paper airplane, there is no fine. That is not to say someone couldn't sue you citing the FAA regs but the FAA could not.Guy was flying a drone around the university of Virginia. It went to court.“Pirker originally won his court case, in which a federal judge ruled that model aircraft aren't technically "aircraft" subject to the FAA's existing regulations.”
You're right about that. First time someone goes horsing around my place with one of those ... hmmm. 1-1/8 ounces of #6? #7-1/2? "...I don't know what it was, Maw, but I sure made it turn that feller aloose!"Lannis
I don't understand this kind of response. its a toy, i have one, it is fun for me and my nephews to play with, it does not have a camera. the government can look into your backyard and count your pubes while you are sunbathing with its many satellites, the cameras on most of the toy quad copters i have seen you would be lucky to tell if its a person or a tree. Its a toy. no one cares what is going on in your backyard, if you see one of these in the air it is people playing with a toy. you can put a camera on a kite, going to shoot all the kites down next? Or is it that people are having fun that is the bad part here?
Don't worry, you won't even see it. Just like the gov satellite equipped with the exact infrared sensor to detect how much mary jane you're growing. Now shoot that one down!
