Test stepper with Guzzidiag
« on: July 06, 2019, 01:30:20 AM »
I ran the test stepper motor function on my B12 with Guzzidiag as I've fitted replacement throttle bodies which came with stepper motor.
I expected to hear something happening but no dice, nothing. I temporarily reconnected the old stepper motor ( which I assume had been working as I had a good hot idle ) and total silence there too.
Fuel tank is off the bike so motor of course was not running.
Should the stepper motor be audibly cycling when testing with Guzzidiag ?

I think it has to be done with the engine running and the revs go up if it's working

Tris is correct. Engine needs to be running.

For an engine-off "test", switch the key on, and let the dash to its little dance. Wait a second, then turn the key off. You should hear the stepper whirring as it 'resets'.
