It mostly drowns out the incessant drumming of "civilization."

Sat there for some time. Saw some dolphins fishing in the surf. I'm not sure anyone else noticed, or cared.
The "flying rats" slope soar back and forth on the lift from the on shore breeze.

Hard to get a picture of them on my sell fone, but they would get quite close. These guys know how to aviate. Pretty relaxing afternoon.

The coast is my native environment. I'm not exactly sure how I ended up in a landlocked state.

They do. I love to sit out on the deck on an ocean front Carolina beach house, with an onshore wind blowing straight in, 90 deg to the beach ...
... and the gulls and pelicans are gliding straight up and down the beach, without moving their wings, in BOTH directions ....

Yep. They have that aviating thing figured out. The wind is really humming tonight. I was planning a trip to SF and back, and my aviation app said 40 knot gusts along the coast. I'll leave in the morning, stay inland going up, and ride the coast the next day or two after the front passes.
