Something to consider.

Rule of thumb is eight 8ounce glasses of water per day. So if your drinking less than a six pack a day you will dehydrate. Works for me :-)

You must have misread the thread. "If you're consuming too much." is a self analysis. If you're defensive about it then you probably are.

A buddy of mine has a cartoon on his fridge of a viking sitting with the doctor next to him. The caption reads," Doc , when I drink I wake up with awful headaches, what can I do"? The doc say's " you could quit drinking" viking "seriously doc , what can I do"!
I laugh every time I open his fridge to grab another beer.

They are boring, quiet, and nothing is funny.
Signs of drinking too much: also boring but now loud and everything is funny.
I try to stay in the middle - boring, not too quiet, and some things are funny.

These people aren't drinking enough...

Come to think of it................. ..Tom, do you drink at all?

Not discussed much but it is a factor on long trips .....

Cheaper of course, to just refill a handy beer empty. :boozing:

When camping I carry an empty plastic salsa jug so I don't have to get out of my tent. Works for me.

Don Henley says:
I can see that you haven't recovered from the girl who let you down
And you'd sell what is left of your soul for another go-round
You keep telling yourself she means nothing and maybe you should call her bluff
But you don't really believe it
You must not be drinkin' enough

I don't drink (alcoholic beverages) at all, so I guess I'm boring, quiet and nothing is funny. Anyone that really knows me can tell you that isn't true.

I tried going to the web site but was just too drunk to go through all of the dang prompts. :boozing:
Perhaps someone could summarize it?

I count the bottles when I'm done. If there are more than I can count, then I take that as a sign I should not speak anymore because I will say something stupid.

:1: and since I only have contact with some of you on an annual basis. I don't care.
Az Wayne. I'm usually one of the last ones at the National rally campfire after the Saturday nite dinner. I pass a pint of bourbon. Bullitt/Jack's.

The secret to a century-long life – at least to one South Carolina centenarian – is a tall pint of cold beer, every single day.
Mildred "Millie" Bowers will celebrate her 103rd birthday on 31 August. One of nine girls in her family, Ms Bowers survived the Great Depression and outlived two husbands. And she credits beer as one of the secrets to her longevity.

Well beer is a food........No really. :thumb:

Tom, if you drink bourbon on a regular basis, you're more a drinker than I am. I drink cheap beer & wine. Anything else my body can't handle. A man got's ta know his limitations. I've been drinking beer for over 50 years. Still waiting to get cancer as 'experts' say I deserve. My wife says back in the middle ages years the only humans who lived the longest were those that drank more beer than polluted water.

Your wife is right. But it was usually "small beer" which had a very low alcohol content, but was much safer than un-processed water in the towns, which could give you dysentery.

Knowing one's limitations and drinking alcohol responsively. In our family, beer and wine from a historical standpoint is recreational drinking. Hard liquor is for serious drinking and with no mixers. On the rocks or straight. That being said. I'd don't imbibe daily or binge drink but appreciate a good bourbon and scotch also gin. I enjoy cocktails. No favorites. The same goes for wine and beers. None mixed with riding a motorcycle. Kickstand down and in for the night....different story.

The TV show The Simpsons explains it well:
