Charlie’s link to thisoldtractor shows one mounted similarly with home made bracket, this looks easy way to do it
Have you tried a different regulator yet as per the article from Greg Field Bender? Here's an excellent tutorial he did on overhauling the generator note in the 4th picture in the nice even colour of the armature, any irregularities point to a bad armature winding. He used fibreglass tape for the fields, that's a bit extreme but should last for the next hundred years.https://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guzzi_loopframe_generator_repair_-_magneti_marelli.html
one more stupid question! do I need to change my bosch electronic voltage regulator, (part number 111903803D) unit if I switch to an alternator?
I would think with this type of bracket, that a rear alternator support would be necessary as well. Otherwise those two M6 bolts would be under a lot of stress.
I'm looking at this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lichtmaschine-Kubota-Mower-Turf-F-2560-2880-3060-Tractor-Utility-B26-KX41-R310/184487726161?hash=item2af4534c51:g:LaYAAOSwylhcnhdDsound good?
a genuine ND is on its way thanks everyoneWhile we're drifting this thread... is it easy to convert a left shifting peg v750 back to right hand shift...?I've spent years on old triumphs so it's not at all alien to me and I hate the mess of shafts and linkage slop inherent in the Left hand shift...
update>>>>I made a half inch thick ally bracket mounted on the front of the case as per the pics in this thread (PLUS support from the rear...)Only problem is... You can line it up so that the belt rubs on the bracket or line it up so that the alternator pulley rubs on the front engine cover.. I notice on the thisoldtractor there are no pics of Kurt's bracket WITH the cover on. grrrrrrrrrKurt thomas if you're out there tell me how you did it!!!!!!
