I went to the Urologist's office this morning and had a Cystoscopy. I  now know that I have bladder Cancer. They're going to schedule surgery for February 5, then call me with details and other info. Shit. :(

Wow.   THAT'S the report none of us want to get.   I know the feeling of waiting for the results to come back, but never yet the feeling of when the doctor tells you "Sit down and I'll give you the lab report."   On the positive side, they checked it, analyzed it, and have a plan, so that's good.   We're pulling for you ... we're all in this together!   Really!

Keep us up to date.

Had a good weekend. Got around to doing a whole lot of little jobs that have bugged me for a long time and have not had the time to do them. Building boxes and containers to house things. The first actual job on my new-to-me lathe turned out spot on (a bush to make a starter mechanism from another chainsaw fit my chainsaw that had a broken bit made of unobtanium) so a new chain saw box was in order to now house two of them. Also welded up a metal frame to replace a clapped out wooden one on our strawberry plot. The birds like strawberries as much as we do. ::) Son came around so my wife can do the accounts for his business. Seems to be growing great and work is flowing in, literally from all parts of the country. :o Didn't think that demand for fixing power steering systems would be more than city wide, but he is even getting work from the North Island as well as from top to bottom in the South Island. Finished the skyhook in the garage and have started taking the backend of the Breva apart to find out where the other four gears have gone to go with to go with the one it is locked in. Weather has now packed a sad and has turned most unpleasant so now the fire is getting rid of all the detritus from my last firewood cutting exercise and it is now nice and cosy inside. ;-T

All very satisfying.

Perfect day , rode close to a hundred miles in the twisty stuff in Eastern Okiehomie . Got a bit worried when the young man on the CBR 600 next to me at a light attempted a wheelie as we left the light . He freaked , chopped the throttle and when his front wheel returned to earth it was cocked to left leading to a vicious tank slapper at 40 mph . Got my attention , pretty sure it got his .

Got in a nice 75 mile ride this afternoon in perfect weather-almost 60F. The Vintage rode sweetly and the brand new Shinko 712 in 130/90 size on the rear seems to be a keeper as far as ride and handling goes. Came home, cleaned up the garage from the carpentry project I'd been working on instead of taking a longer ride (grrrr...)  >:( , put the bike and cars away and BAM! North wind at 40 with 60 mph gusts and temp falling like a rock. Temps look like single digits for a couple nights and highs in the 20F range again. Good thing I got a ride in today!  ;-T The wind is absolutely HOWLING outside the window as I type this. Brrrrrrr.

Carmel's daughter has been taking Methetrexate for half her life now, roughly the last 18 years. This afternoon, both her GP and one of her specialists informed us that she was supposed to get off it a long time ago because it is so bad for the immune system. One of them, not sure which one, sent her to emergency this pm for blood tests as a blood infection is suspected, owing to the supression of her immune system. That was an hour ago. I am probably talking garbage right now. Everything is confusing and there is a lot of rage at worthless doctors who have been asleep. I can only hope for the best but there is a cloud over her future.

Dusty,
I can't get to my garage............(as if I could ride anywhere anyway!).  The temperature was above freezing point briefly, for perhaps a day (during the ice storm) in January.  First proper winter in a long time.

Small beer compared to some on the forum with real troubles, with whom I commiserate.

Good news.  We had about 2 inches of light dusting snow last night in Raleigh.  This morning, my neighbor 8 years since living in Rochester NY cranks up his snowblower.  I asked if I could borrow it and he cleaned my driveway.  Probably safer that way.  But I had to force $10 on him.  "No, this is not for you!  It's for the next oil change and service on this fine machine!"  He laughed and went on to do someone else's driveway.  Very nice guy.

Cars are disposable appliances.  Even the lawn tractor doesn't get a look in and I doubt I could even find it at the moment.
Can you tell I have too much time on my hands?

My wife let me out for the day, so I rode down to the shop to pick up a part and talked to the owner about his Maserati collection. The shop is having a ride in March for Guzzisti going to the museum and to other points later in the day, actually an overnighter to Palm Springs.
then I went to the Surfer Dog hot dog joint in Sunset Beach only to find it closed, as I forgot they are only open Thursday to Sunday. so I found another hot dog joint on Beach and had lunch, the to Premier to look at the latest race car models they had in stock. I couldn't afford anything, but they had a nice selection of new stuff!
Then off to home to resume my care giver duties! About 80 miles of riding in what turned into 84 degree weather.
