Routine maintenance question//Cali 1400 vs most CARC bikes
« on: March 22, 2015, 07:17:45 PM »
After looking at pics of the new Audace and Cali 1400, it appears there are more pieces and parts to remove to access the alternator belt.  I've changed the belt on my 1200 Sport, and it wasn't much of a big deal.  Question is .... how hard to access the alt belt on the 1400 cruisers?

I take it you have done this. It doesn't look easy. I forget the change interval but shorter than I felt it should be.

Haven't done a belt but did have to warranty replace an alternator. I reckon the easiest way to do the belt would be remov the Alt and unhook the belt from the bottom pulley and pull it out the top. Then thread the new belt in, hook it over the bottom pulley, re-install the Alt etc.
