Glad you guys had a good time.  Sorry I missed it, weather and machinery conspired against me.  Warm and dry were my preferences.

Sat and Sun were warm and dry . It was the clearest on the Mountain I've seen in years .

Had a good time meeting up with the group at my first Guzzi gathering.   Thanks for the hospitality Fri night and dinner. I don’t know who made the chili but it was great and hit the spot after getting there later than planned on Fri.
Hope to make it again next year.

What a great bunch of guys all with positive outlook. Thanks for making me feel welcome at my first Guzzi Campout. Other than a BMW airhead Boxer that fell over in the grass Sunday morning, there were no mishaps as far as I know. I learned a lot from listening to wisdom of the road and tried using more pronounced counter steer in the twisties as Rudy advised like he does on his HD. It works!
Plus someone left a half a bottle of Glenfeddich which I took into protective custody and will bring to Cedarvale(sp?) to see who claims it.
On the way back I saw Doug stopped on the shoulder of 49 highway with his "Patriot" toy hauler. I waited at the next exit and he came rolling by with air in all his tires, so I guess he was ok.

  Made it home at 9pm---600miles/12hours=a treacherous trip!!! Took secondary roads 70 percent of the way, somewhere along the way I got sleepy + ran a stop sign---car coming,my brakes wouldn't work in time(75mph) so I GOOSED it(pun intended)+ made it across the road---I never got sleepy the rest of trip     In the area where GLIDER JOHN lives I was riding on vapors, out of the blue there's a gas sign,I pulled in to find a DOLLAR GENERAL (no relation 2 our AM GENERAL) do you believe they sell gas?? So I pull up to the pump + find my left side carburetor float bowl just hanging there leaking all over---fix that + put in my card 6 different ways in the pump, no go---using #2 card no go either----go inside store see clerk, we go out 2 try again still no go--so I try to pass the clerk a $100 bill he says he can only except a DOLLAR GENERAL special card for fuel.He asked how many gallons I need,I say 5, gettin ready to sign me up he says thats $5. I say i'm 73 yrs old this is the first time iv'e been in this store odd's good I will never return so why should I pay $5 to save 15 cents? He told me of a Caseys around the corner---end of crisis ---this time!!!   I make it to the interstate with about 1hr of daylight,100 miles to go,the problem here is I don't have a HEADLIGHT    :violent1: -----

:weiner:  The Beemer rolled over + played dead at the rally,I kicked it + with the help of my hero Delrod got it running again, apparently the head light came loose it was aimed about street light height, the bad thing was it would turn off when it felt like it. I'm not one to give up soooooo I soldiered on. On highway 81 it's a 4 laner, however it's still freaky when your head light goes out travelin 75/80 mph   :pop   traveling with traffic wasn't bad as the cars soon got used to me,when I stopped to call Mrs. Fubar to tell her what a fun time I was havin I lost my cover(cars around me). Trust me its dark out there when there's no traffic,I found I could use my turn signal ,when it flashed I could see either the dotted line in the middle or the white strip on the edge of the highway----it don't get better than this,it would take about 4 seconds to retrieve the light again. I made it home all well+ good(I know mother Dusty will be proud),I was cold + starting to get chilled   :thumb:  Thank's to everyone whom made this happen,I had a great time+really enjoyed the ride both ways, next year perhaps I will have a bike that runs well   :boozing:

The entire Louisiana contingent made it home safely Sunday without any mishaps. This year the weather really showed out. What a beautiful weekend. It was fantastic to be among friends again. We really should do it again sometime.

It was a great weekend!!!

Really the only downside was Dusty telling us all about that tragic shooting in Philadelphia back in 1724.   Some Hessian mercenary started talking smack with a Kentucky Mountain Man about his mule being cross eyed.  Hessian got shot in the eye with a .75 caliber flintlock.

I don’t know all the details, but Dusty does.

Major bummer.

Reservations made today for shelter and my campsite. If you think you'll want to be there make a reservation. All have to be paid in full and in advance. Kinda sucks but spend the money now and in a year you will have forgotten. More for gas and other essential items. OCT 9-10 2020

The website did not work for me. If you call Mary to make a reservation, she will have you call another number to reserve a site. You are directed to:  Sherry at Wister State park. She also handles reservations for Talihina State Park. She is at 918-655-7212. Don't forget to ask for your senior or handicapped discount.
