"I fidanzati della morte" - Rodaggio Film
« on: August 23, 2017, 06:09:19 AM »
Has anyone received anything from Rodaggio Film yet?  I received an email in May telling me to expect my DVD and T_shirt in June.  But, three months later, I haven't yet received anything.

I have also asked them. They replied that I should get my "Speed Racer" package on the end of August or in early September. They have DVD's ready but apparently they still need to prepare T-shirts and posters. On August they have "ferragosto" and majority of companies are closed.

Can't wait to see the movie! :bike-037:

I paid, and have since filed a paypal dispute. The seller finally emailed me (never did after purchase or shipping), and claimed to have shipped it. I told him I'd wait until the end of the month.

Scam? I don't know yet.

Meh. Is not a scam. They just miscalculated the timeline (Italians ). I follow them on Facebook and they are quite active. They have movie promotions in cinemas in different countries. Which makes me wonder... Why they don't give us VoD (online) version of the film??

I've assumed the same.  Hopefully that's all it is.

Update!

8/30/17
Hello, dear supporters of "I fidanzati della morte".
Yesterday we started to send hundreds of codes to access the film in VoD. Many of you are anxious about the shipment and arrival of the DVDs and the rest of the rewards: don't worry, everything's under control! We had to deal with companies summer closures (in Italy almost every business takes a break, during august!!), moreover they were late to give us quotations for packaging, envelopes, wrapping stuff, shipping costs and prints, and to ship the material we requested them to create for us. Here is a detailed update: by 4-5 September we should receive all posters, both original posters, and collector's prints of the poster created for you by Lorenzo Eroticolor. By 7 September, the supplier assured us of the arrival of the t-shirts. So by 15 September most of the rewards can be sent and by the end of September we hope that even our and supporters can receive them! We understand your impatience and as always we are doing our best to be fast, efficient and clear, even if we are a tiny little team (a fierce one, though)! If you have already supported other crowdfunding campaigns you know it takes several months to carry out the financed project and then receive the rewards, most of the times at least 5-6 months. In this regard, we have been fast as possible, so far, and we are very proud of it! The film at the end of June had already been restored and the DVD and the book were on their way to be mastered and printed!! We tried and gave our best to get everything done in the minimum time!
So, thank you for your patience, and for supporting us, we're asking you to keep believing in us, because we love you all and we're not letting you down!

I started watching the Vimeo version yesterday.  Absolutely glorious footage of motorcycles, a Guzzi Galleto, a number of vintage automobiles (obviously)  The DVD resolution will be even better, but the restoration is in beautiful color.  Sound is excellent, even on computer speakers.  Can't wait to get the final package deal.  They're just taking time to get stuff right with the premiums.  They give every indication of being a legit, top notch outfit.  I have no beef waiting a few extra weeks to get the goodies.

Love the movie, I've watched it 2 or 3 times now. Interesting how they go out of their way to make up 2 fictitious motorcycle brand names, yet clearly there is Guzzi and Gilera product placement all over the place. The 2 guys working on the Guzzi truck seen out the back door of the garage at the races is classic. I wonder if the manner in which the big "evil" corporation racing team (ZV in the Movie, Guzzi in real life?) was an accurate representation. Crushing team orders, teams of 5 or 6 riders working closely to ensure victory for the selected rider (much like bicycle racing I suppose). Interesting love story, also interesting how it was the woman blamed for the mans infidelity, and the man got off easy. Great footage from the Guzzi factory. If my DVD hadn't arrived, I had an online pay to see video site bookmarked (https://vimeo.com/ondemand/engagedtodeath/225845691). Certainly worth the $8.99 to rent.

This film has been submitted to the Portland Motorcycle Film Festival. If selected (I'm one of four people selecting the films) it will be a chance to see this motorcycling masterpiece on a 50 ft screen.

If you're anywhere near the Pacific Northwest in last January this would be your destination.

http://www.pdxmotorcyclefilms.com

Tickets are not on sale yet (they will be offered after the films are selected, so early December) and I'll be sure to update this thread then.

The movie is definitely a product of different times...the domestic violence scene was rather shocking and totally unecessary to the plot, but I guess the idea was to see how far 'our hero' would sink before redemption...seeing all the period stuff was a treat! I had forgotten all about getting listed in the credits, so that was a bonus! Oops, gotta run...Spielberg's on line 2!

I still havent received a thing. No poster. No dvd. No tshirt. Nothing. An email I sent a week ago through Kickstarter has gone unanswered. I sent another just now. Im confused because about a month ago they went out of their way to get a hold of me (I hadnt replied to an email with my address), I provided it, waited, emailed, and now, silience.

Mine was also not working on the home theater system. Finally, I got it playing on a Mac (copied it). Must be cheap DVDs. Also, they shipped DVD just wrapped inside T-shirt. Case was completely broken in transit. So much about secure packaging!

Ive experienced that with several foreign dvds, they are formatted differently.
I just plug my Mac into an HDMI  port on my tv.

Problem is, that movie starts to play but somewhere in the middle just stops. Or you just can't jump between chapters.
Maybe I'll be bad guy someday and upload it to The Pirate Bay

I received film, T-shirt and poster maybe 4-6 weeks ago.  As reported by others, the DVD does not play on region one DVD players. Plays fine on computer.  I might try to convert it using Nero Express.  I'm happy enough, though I do feel they should have anticipated many foreign contributors and made the DVD an all-region version.

Mixed news on my attempt to make a more usable copy on DVD.

Disc Utility on my MacBook Air made an image from the original disc in DVD-R format without complaint, but it turned out to be 5.7GB, too big for the usual 4.7GB DVD's.

So I bought five Verbatim DVD+R DL dual-layer discs that can hold 8.5GB ($10 from Amazon). The Mac wrote and verified the image on one of these, using an Apple Superdrive at 4X speed, again without complaint.

1) The bad news: When I put the new copy in my Onkyo Blu Ray player I got this message:

             Disc Error
-- Please eject the disc. --
Playback  feature may not be available on this Disc.

This is the same message the original disc produces in that player.

2) The good news: The new copy works fine in an older Toshiba DVD player, even though the original disc continues to produce exactly the same error message quoted above.

So copying the original to a double layer disc produced a partial success. Anyone have a suggestion for fixing the problem on the Blu Ray player?

I guess I'll be making space for my old DVD player in my main system now. It's a good movie.
