AND David (twowheeladdict) wins the tiny tent prize !
Dang ! You mean I dropped off that bottle at the wrong tent ?
I've said it before, but I'll say it again. The Kentucky rally is "special" to me. I've been going since it first started, and won't miss it without a *really* good reason. My 60th high school reunion was the same weekend. "Sorry, I have to go to the Kentucky rally." I was fortunate enough to win the 50/50, and gave it back as partial payback for all the good times I've had there. Put it on your calendar..you'll be glad you did. Good friends, good riding, good times.
He is doing much better than I feared might be the case. In fact he is home, in a neck brace, which he is to wear for 11 weeks I believe. Fractured the c2, no surgery, just time for it to heel, and it appears he should make a Full recovery. He was on a 09 Vintage which he recently picked up, got into a tighter than expected corner a bit to hot, road of the side in to gravel, started to work his way back to the pavement, but ran out of gravel shoulder and dropped front wheel into culvert ditch, bike went ass over front, he was ejected from the seat, and came down like a pile driver on his Nolan. He was very, very lucky.Unfamiliar road, new bike, less than optimal tires all variables that came in to play. Let's all take this as a lesson, don't go into a dam corner to HOT!
HEY ! Who stuffed that 1400 in there ????
I believe that is Jim Hamlin's frankenbike.
that bike must pull on your arms like a monster.
Thanks to everyone for a great first Guzzi rally. It was an absolutely great time all around with some great people. I missed the Ton-Up National to be in Kentucky. No regrets!
