Title: St. Patricks day dinner
Post by: Perazzimx14 on March 17, 2019, 05:03:55 PM
Since Irish food is as good as Italian beer for tonights dinner in celebration of St Patrick's day...………………..Personal Naan pizza.

Get the BGE started:

A 4 pack of Naan flat bread from Aldi's

Homemade pizza sauce made fresh and ready to go.

Since we're making homemade sauce why not make a nice fresh ball of mozzarella

Sauce, cheese and spices applied to the Naan

Onto the BGE until the cheese is melted and the Naan is crispy

Serve with cold beer and you have one heck of a good St. Patrick's day dinner without having to subject your self to flavorless bangers and mash or shepherds pie.

We decided to have actual traditional Irish food instead cause we're, ya know, part Irish.

Well made bangers and mash again is awesome. But you need a source for decent Irish sausage.

We often have some Irish white pudding and Irish bacon as well.

So as a first generation Irish American who's dad to bitch about corned beef and cabbage as "not an Irish dish" it turns out that it is an "Irish-American" dish. Early Irish settlers in NY looking for meat wound up at the Jewish butchers and bought what they could... So came the new dish.

I have to fact check this one, but I've been told there are more Irish living in NYC than Ireland....I say this just back from visiting my step-mom in NYC.

Edit, looks like there are more Irish living in America, and possibly close to as many Irish living in NYC as Dublin, but other claims are more fantastic than can be believed.

Wouldn't that be there are more American's of Irish decent living in NYC than Irish living in Ireland?
