It may be "riding weather", but once they've sprayed "brine" on the roads or spread "salt"......
We keep a "beater" around, just for that purpose. We DO spray it off with the hose when we come home, though.
Jim, would I be right in thinking that a good deal of your aliments related to your extremities are circulation issues do in large part diabietes?
You'll note that the term "Climate Change" is now what is used to describe what is happening. The AVERAGE temperature of the planet is going up, which is causing the climate to change. I know, at least in my region, we seem to be getting a lot more rain, and winter last longer. Average temps here don't seem to be going up.Hurricanes seem, on average to be stronger than they used to be. The droughts in the western part of the country seem to be worse, resulting in worse fire seasons.Climate Change is real, even if the result isn't warmer temps where you live.
We're supposed to get our first snowfall today, then turn to rain. Hope it doesn't freeze up tonight.Larry
Oak Creek, AZ is about as dead-nuts 180-deg opposite from upstate NY as you can get. Congratulations, JJ! I admire and envy you! I remember when we lived in Phx and were exploring "up north", we found some actual snow somewhere around Fossil Creek and followed backroads and snow/mud until we ended up in Oak Creek. Wish I was there now.Saw my neighbor's Alfa Romeo covered in wet snow with the windows open this morning after the apocalyptic snow we got last night , I posted about it a few months ago, guy can't even bring himself to put a tarp over it. Sitting there rotting as he and his wife come and go every day. Sad. I feel like stealing it.
@ brider - - Well, @ 4500 feet, we DO get snow, and these photos are from Christmas Day 2017. However, with 300 days of sunshine per year, it never lasts more than 2-3 days. Just enough for a nice "winter effect."
No!
QUOTE: After something like 200 days of rain this year (might be exaggerating, might only be 180), 300 day of sunshine sounds great! I'd bet we only got about 20 or 30 total this year.We were at a garage sale down the street this morning...and this was the view from their backyard!! Sunny and 65 degrees today - Nov. 17th
OK, that's just mean, posting pics like that when we're suffering up here in the northeast.
Not intended... ...flights are cheap these days...just hop on a plane for a long weekend, or more, to Phoenix to relieve the winter blues! The sunshine will do you good!
the name for my ailment is about 4 inches long in these typed letters. I can't remember how to say it but it is no longer my legs. It now weakens the whole body to some degree. It really sucks. By the way, it snowed again last night, that is 6 times now this year. It normally doesn't snow here until halfway through December. In my condition it is like being under house arrest. It just sucks. I think Ma Nature has decided I had too much fun during my life and is making me pay for it. F#%k her anyway!
Mesa is in AZ. East of phoenix.
Good quick escape to Tortilla Flats and South Mtn.
