Recently had my 2009 Norge (2V) serviced (TPS set, throttle sync, etc.) and had the evap canister removed.
Bike runs stronger but a bit "jerky" on the throttle and some "pops".
Curious if a Beetle map would make a difference?
Bike has a Staintune exhaust

Has anyone removed the canister on a 2V Norge and is running a Beetle map? If so, can you share your experience?

It helps if most all slack is removed from throttle cable, adjust w/bars all the way to left & you'll be fine.
I have taken off many evap cans, installed Beetle maps, all good results.

not completely apples to apples, but hopefully not useless either.

2009 GRiSO, 12008V.
Purchased with mods: canister removed, aftermarket exhaust with no dB killer, K&N with no airbox cover, just  retention ring, and running an aftermarket 'performance' MAP. I found it impossible to accelerate smoothly, it was on. or off. VERY annoying. Engine braking was more like getting launched over the tank. Fuel mileage was abysmal.

Replaced the dBk, went to a hiFlo pleated OEM style air filter with stock airbox cover and reMAPped with Beetle's recommended MAP for my set up. Also did the valves, throttle body balance and TPS reset.

Bike is buttery smooth to redline, with actual throttle control. If I wish to roll on slooooowwly, it's completely manageble. Redline comes as quickly as you'd like, however, and engine braking is as it should be. Honestly, my mind is blown by the night/day difference of this re-MAP.

I'd encourage you to do it based on my experience.

Also, as a tangent, I'm amazed at the random array of versions of CARC machines in the 07 - 10 window. 850/1100/12004V/12008V all available nearly simultaneously. Talk about throwing darts. or was it EU emissions. I dunno but it's a funny thing.

Best of luck with the Norge!

2008 Norge here, running an Agostini pipe with a Beetle map...smooth as silk, no snatchiness at all...and no backfiring or popping on decel.  Highly recommend doing the mapping and then also relearn the parameters via Guzzidiag again.

As others have mentioned, checking the slack in throttle cables is a good start. However in my 2007 Griso (1100 4V motor) the Beetle map adjusted initial throttle takeup and removed all jerkyness at low speeds.

Keep in mind that all the work you had done has likely sharpened response of the motor, and you may just need to re-adust to the new normal for throttle inputs.

Yep…
Beetle is working on a new map for the right wrist, not ready yet…

So I flashed the Beetle map last night.  WOOOOW!! Honestly this is the best $100 I think I have spent on a bike. Like others have said, cracks perfect off idle, no jerkiness in acceleration and no pop on de-acceleration

Best my 2009 Norge has ever ran

It's amazing, isn't it!  And only $100.  What it does for the bike is priceless.

I also have a Staintune that pops a bit on decel.  I've been living with it cuz it's tolerable. But you guys are really convincing.
I guess I will learn how to do this mapping stuff.

I'm guessing $100 is just for cables? I see the map file is online.

I only paid $100 for my Beetle map.
I think the cables were about 40-60 bucks.

You’ll pay $100 for the MAP

Here’s the necessary cables, or, phone a friend?

https://www.lonelec.com/product/guzzidiag-3pin-interface-cable-kit/

Go to GRiSO.org. You’ll find links to the free software and the various MAPs available as well as contact info to their creator for more information.

Thanks, y'all.  I was confused.
I thought the software contained the map because it's specific for each ECU.
I'll contact Mark.
